Oh, and starting a juicing diet (like Jordan!) on Monday. Have been looking at doing it for a while just have had high blood pressure and doctor took loads of bloods from me last week. Looks like I had some kinda infection which made my blood pressure so high - it's almost back to normal now so I decided it's safe to juice!! Found out from the blood tests though that my thyroid isn't working properly and is slightly underactive (knew there was a reason I was overweight!!). Let's see if I last 7 days with no food!!! xx:j:j Getting married 28th July 2012 :j:j0

Yep the up-do was my own creation - hence all the pins lol I will try to make it neater on the day lol. But the actual colour was the hairdresser - she really is fab and I love it!! I do top it up in between visits... well MrD does it for me.
Well - because of the low key affair we are having, and not having any bridesmaids my 'hen' do will consist of me and my best friend (my Chief Brides Maid If I Was Having One = CBMIIWHO), going for a spa weekend. We'll go on the Friday night before the ceremony, spend Friday night gossiping. Then on the Saturday we'll wake up and head down to the spa and relax and have a couple of treatments - the one I linked to includes 3 x 25 min treatments - I fancy my finger nails, my toe nails, and a back massage. Then staying over on the Saturday cause who wants to be driving home after a relaxing day! And coming home on the Sunday. The link above also includes 2 x dinners, 1 x lunch and 2 x breakfasts. All for £175 pp - sounds a lot but I think for what is included it's great. And because it's only the two of us I don't have any qualms in paying - it is after all my suggestion. So I'll come home on the Sunday all chilled out, go to work on the Monday, get married on the Tuesday, go to work on the Wednesday and have a bit of a mini celebration after work with people from work. Thurs & Fri off work (I break up on the Wednesday) preparing for Saturday's after show party.
:T I can't wait!! I did think about doing a high wire course - but after speaking to my CBMIIWHO at the weekend we decided we could do that any old time... we tend to do random things each school holiday - yesterday we had a fish pedicure! I would love to do a murder mystery weekend - but I don't know enough people to invite to make up the numbers!
That sounds like a great idea - making a weekend of it.Lots of wedding talk :T!
Can't help with the DJ as we're not having one - just going to be streaming our music from our computers around the house/garden speakers.0 -
Oh wow - I could so not cope with no solid food! Good Luck!!0

Natalie- im holding you responsible if I buy anything on figleaves- there is some lovely bikinis on there, and ive found one in the outlet section that I love!! I could spend quite a bit!!
Rach- ive found the dj quotes vary from £160- £280, the one im thinking of going with is £180 (he did my friends wedding a few weeks ago and was good.0 -
Heh heh I have nice broad shoulders - I can take the blame of any purchases lol.
I'm now umming and ahhhing - when to get my hair coloured. If I do the above plan then I'd have to get my hair done the weekend before the spa - which wouldn't be too bad - I just won't go in the pool. Or I could do the spa weekend two weeks before the wedding and get my nails shaped and trimmed then and my hair done the weekend before - but not sure if I'd need the spa break as much then if that makes sense. It's just pants that my hair dresser is in Lincoln, I work in Grimsby, so the earliest I could get to Lincoln would be 5:00 which'd be too late for colouring my hair ... grrr!0 -
We've just had another dj quote for £130! My Hubbie-to-be (eeeek!) kinda knows him so he's knocked a bit off his normal price!!
Natalie: I've seen those fish pedicures as I was walking through Cardiff shopping centre last weekend. They look good! Do they tickle? Your hen idea sounds fab. Most of the people I'd invite are family mine and oh's side!
Just had Grandmother-to-be on the phone - she's bought us a guest book as an engagement pressie today and was wondering whether we had one! Fair play to her!

Awww that is lovely of your Grandma-in-law-to-be
And nice of her to ask!!
The fish do tickle - but they feel more like a vibration feel rather than a tickle... it was really only when they sucked at the underside of my toes that I giggled my head off. Mmm was it worth it? Well for a tennar you can't really go wrong. But I think I prefer a normal pedicure - at least with them you tend to get a deep massage and some moisturising cream.0 -
I did consider one of those fish pedicures but then decided I really am not good with having my feet touched so decided against it!!
Rach- thats a really good quote for the dj. Oh thats nice of your grandma to be, and bless her for ringing to check with you. I have a guest book which I will put on a table but I think I may give my little sister (well younger sister as at 11 shes only half an inch shorter than me!!) the task of taking it round the tables for people to sign as Ive been to weddings before where they just get forgotten!
Does your hairdresser not do a late night once a week? Ill get mine done the week before the wedding- my mil2b does mine so she can do it one day after work for me!0 -
I'm not sure if she does - the only problem is it'd have to be the Monday night before the wedding - lol not sure if I could be away from home on that night or whether I'd have lots of rushing around to do lol. I think I'm just going to get it done two weekends before the wedding and just avoid the pool at the spa - my friend who I'm taking doesn't like water anyway so she wouldn't be going in it.
Right today I have 3000 words to write - wish me luck!! (My treat for completing it is going to be phoning up about the hen weekend, and also phoning my hairdressers!)0 -
Hen night decision made:
* Saturday 14th July (assuming my hairdresser is free and not getting married herself), go and get my hair done - CBMIIWHO joining me, and possibly getting a cut while we wait for my colour to set. (If she wants it). Then going to a nail place and getting our toes and fingers shaped and any horrid cuticles chopped away. Then going onto my fave restaurant for tea. Then back to mine for the evening. Okay maybe not as glamourous as a lovely spa weekend break... but then I won't have the dilemma over my hair, and it should also be cheaper!!
I will just have to persuade MrD to have his stag night that night so me and my CBMIIWHO can have the house to ourselves when we get back.0
