    Hi Elljay

We are really lucky where I live (small market town in the Midlands) we have a health food shop that's not too expensive, and I get my wheatgerm and linseed from there. I know they also sell both items in Holland and Barratt. I usually buy sunflower seeds and sesame seeds from the Holland and Barratt or from Julian Graves when they have their BOGOF offers on (or sometimes it's buy 2 GOF). You can buy small bags of most seeds (I also use poppy seeds), though I can justify buying larger packs as I use seeds a lot in bread making, and fruit cakes etc....in fact I sneak seeds and wheatgerm into all sorts of stuff where I can hide it from DH and DS...cakes, biscuits, home made burgers - that type of stuff. Sometimes I grind the seeds down so that they can't be 'seen' at all, sometimes I leave them whole if they are seeds they will eat - such as sesame...hope that helps!

Hi Taurusgb....Thanks for replying. I have decided to bite the bullet and go for it. I'll try H&B and other local Healthfood shops. Thanks.
Does anyone know when Julian Graves will next have their 10% discount day or is it not a nationally timed event. Just up to each individual store?

Hi there, we finally got round to making these today but despite pressing it down well it is still all crumbly.
I was wondering if I should crumble it up again and add a bit more butter and maybe a spoonful of syrup to bind it? before putting it in the oven again for a few minutes?

Can you cook flapjacks in the microwave without having to use the oven?

Yes, most recipes take about 5 minutes cooking, then leave till cool before cutting.

I've tried to make chewy bars with a flapjack recipe, adding pleant of syrup etc but they still go crumbly.

I love flapjacks but never manage to find low fat recipes that would taste as good as the full fat ones.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks.

I'd like to know too... pref something with buttermilk because I'll have some of that left over from making my butter tonight and that'd be something worthwhile making alongside my soap... ;)
