  • That's a good idea about the e account beemuzed but tbh I like having it handy, and I have a change tin I keep in the kitchen anyway. This morning I found £4.25 in my coat which I haven't worn for a week or so, so one £1 coin went in the Sistercas fund and the rest went in the change tin :) - that way if I need change I grab it out of that one.

  • Morning all,

Well I've well and truly come down with the lurg. I thought I'd avoided it but it's been slowly building over the past few days and last night I slept soundly for 10 hours

My new employers called yesterday too, to say that they were just sending off my CRB form, and that they still didn't have a date for my nursing induction. So, on the up side, I get probably another 2-3 weeks off, but I'm wondering what they delay is, as I signed my contract with them on the 20th November...

It's snowing here in the Peak District, quite a lot too....

OH has taken the other car over for an MOT this morning as he needs to use it on Wednesday as he is going away again. So, if it fails (If! HA! WHEN's more likely) he'll have to put it right over the weekend, but we're going down south on Sunday evening and won't be back until Monday late afternoon and he's got stuff on on Tuesday. We could both really have done without him going, but wheels are in motion and there's no stopping them :(

So today. I have an extensive list which comprises of:

Tidying and cleaning the house - it's a 2 up / 2 down cottage so won't take me long.

Itemising the food in the freezer, the veg and the cans so I can do a meal plan - as I share the freezer space and veg storage with my mum, and we share most meals I can see at least 3 weeks without anything but milk being needed :rotfl:

On-line shopping for any bits we do need

    Bread making

Dinner last night was the rest of the cottage pie from the day before, but I made a huge pot of smoked bacon and lentil soup too, so we'll have that.

Hope you all have a pleasant and snow-free day.

    T xx

Morning. Hugs and thoughts for everyone who needs them.
Cold and wet here. Been up since 6ish, and have done a fair bit. The DW has been emptied and refilled, the SC is full of chicken stock, I've roasted a tray of peppers, yesterday's washing is drying nicely and DH has reluctantly left for work.

I'm updating my iPod at the moment, but as soon as it is finished, I really need to get out of the house and get on with my errands.Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning everyone ,a very damp and wet one here in Kent, still better that than the white stuff.I am going to do a stock-take of my cupboards today to see what DD can have thats surplus .She is still out of work and getting a bit down about it .She's had several telephone inteviews and has a few things bubbling away and lots of feed back from the agencies which is good but she really wants to get back out there as she is a real grafter at heart and being indoors gets her down a bit.
Definitely no shopping to buy as my food stores need to be eaten up over the next few weeks to save a bit more cash. This I will use to help DD out if she finds things a bit slow moneywise. She is a good lass and I hate to see her so depressed as she's normally quite bubbly.
<<hugs to those who have got this horrible 'lurgy' thats going around .my DGS Danny had it before Christmas and it put him- a strapping 20 year old -on his back in bed.last time he went to bed because he was ill was when he had chicken pox aged 6.So if your poorly stay at home and give yourselves lots of TLC .I hate it when folk stuggle in to work and pass it on to their collegues.
Staying away from supermarkets and crowds will also keep me a lot healtier I know .When I was having chemo three years ago I used to go shopping in the evening when there were less people around so I didn't catch anything as my immune system was very low .I went through the whole winter that year without a sniffle thank goodness.
Right well I'm off to sort out my cupboards .I had some wholewheat toast and the last of the pate left over from Christmas for breakfast
lunch will be Sardines and tomato's on toast .Ham salad for dinner tonight

    Morning all,

Been snowing heavily here for a good couple of hours and seems to be sticking. Can't decide whether to shift it or leave it,as when I did it on Tuesday for my neighbour,it turned to rain and disappeared, but my aching back lingered a lot longer

Just having a cuppa, then prob will do some ironing.Actually, with using the TD,I find if I fold it as soon as it stops, and smooth it down,I can get away with not ironing T shirts - no one complained yet.:DThe trick is remembering to do it,I forget if I'm upstairs.

Lovely chicken curry last night with the reduced packs, and more in foil trays in the freezer.I did it in the pressure cooker- only took a few minutes :TMust remember to use it more for stuff like that.
Nearly finished the top I was doing yesterday, will do today as I will prob stay in now due to the snow-unless Boots ring to say my new glasses are ready.
Taplady -:rotfl:naughty Louie. We have to check we don't leave any food item out if we are going out,as invariably there will be empty tubs/wrappers on the floor when we get back.Leo is nearly as tall as me when he gets on his back legs :rotfl:so its no problem for him to grab stuff-pity he can't put stuff away, could be quite handy :D
Hugs to anyone in need xx

    Good morning all,
Well it's well and truly raining here in Lincolnshire, and wet and dismal day especially for DS1 who is a window cleaner.

I have managed to do more decluttering, and got to goal of 100 items. Having a rest now before going to work.

The WM has broken, pump gone and they can't get out to fix it until 17th - over a week away. That is going to be hard, will have to use mum's machine and DIL's as there are 5 of us in the house.

Hope you all have a good day, and hope all who are poorly soon feel better.

Morning all! late one from me today, didn't want to get out of bed today!!
Miserable weather..Pups is asleep with me on the sofa, will need to brave it and take him out later.

My last day at my temp job today :D No one has told my manager yet though, so will need to break the news to him today.

Not much OS going on today, dinner is sausages with a HM jalepeno dip, savoury rice and OH will probably want chips with his.

Get an food delivery tomorrow, so we will hopefully not need to spend much else this month.

    Have a lovely day all

Hugs to those who need them, sounds like there are a few of you!
