Morning everyone
Cold and dark here, but none of the snow I was expecting today.
Just taken the recycling bins and papers out, should have done it last night but I thought it was too dark, why I thought it would be light this morning I don't know.
Was up early as couldn't sleep so have done big cleaning, and sorting washing out.
My tesco order last night was short, by the whole of the fridge stuff:eek:
delivery man forgot to pick up the fridge crates. When I rang they said they couldn't re deliver today so cancelled that bit, they refunded my delivery charge so not all bad.
Off to get my library books together as want to go before work, I love it now they open at 8.30.
Have a good day xx
Edited to add its now snowing so may give library a miss and it means taking my wally trolley and don't fancy pulling it in the snow!whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Gosh, I'm late this morning, slept soundly and slept long.
Morning all.
It's minus 5 right now and snow is promised, or do I mean threatened? Got work to go to and also need to return a plate I bought in M&S the other day, it's got a huge crack all round it.
Yesterday evening I bought a food processor. :j Have never had one so I feel fairly justifiedas I spend a lot of time chopping things for soup - yes, I know it's a fairly weak argument
anyway, I'll collect it tomorrow from JL and am excited about it. Now that all the kitchen cupboards have been decluttered there is a space just waiting to be filled. Now I will save making the pizza quiche until Saturday.
Tonight we have Chinese take-away, it's traditional in this house. I don't have any rice or chips so still keep on track.
I promise... nothing to buy today!
Hope everyone is warm and well.0 -
"Are we downhearted? NO !" - British World War 1 military expression.
Thought I might share my daily Keep Calm and Carry On calendar inspirational quote. I will try and do this on a daily basis but some mornings I dont turn the page until it's night-time:eek::eek:
Poring with rain. Poor kids have to walk today as Im not up to driving. DS2 is grumbling and chuntering away. DS3 just gets on with it with a cheery smile - God Bless him xx
Well Im up and out of bed much to Molly's disgust as she settled down for a snooze when Kids Dad brought me a cuppa. No walk for them this morning as Molly hates the rain and Poppy wont go without her.
Im on a very strict budget and so am not doing a shop this weekend and instead Im using up the food from the freezer and cupboards. I intend to make some cakes and have loads of frozen stuff so we wont starve.
Hugs xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Morning all,
Grey again today just to make a change, still better than having the white stuff. Today i have to run DH to work so i can have the car to take DS2 to respite tonight. Don't really fancy it cos the drive is a PITA but need to get back into routine a he hasn't been there for well over a month and they are really nice people. I also need to phone to see if i can look around 2 schools for when he moves up. He's in Y5 at mo but got to choose early to get him in a special school.
DS1 may go back to uni today- he's struggling with essays at the mo and is making the house a little tense. I try my best to help him but he's aking the wrong person for help asking me as what he's doing is dire.
Panto to look forward to tomorrow.
It will be a quick dinner tonight tonight of breaded chicken with salad and quite possibly wedges.
Have a good day.0 -
Morning All,
-6 here:eek: its awfully cold.
Halight hopefully its just that backtowork feeling x
Molly hope you pick up a bit later.
nmlc, nice to see you about
Not much planned today, need to mealplan and do a shopping list. Things are really tight here this month, with OH having no idea of what work is coming in or when. The good news is that my phone seems to have sprung back into life late last night - not sure what's going on there?
Off to tidy up now the boys are all out, have a good day all.
another £1 in my sistercas fund
Hugs spoons and hi5's all round!

Morning peeps
snowing heavily here  i`m not impressed as i had hoped that we`d seen the last of it, i`m hanging on for a few minutes before i take the woofaloes out in the vain hope that it will slow down a bit or i shall look like the abominable snowman when i get back
I woke at the silly time of 215 am and couldn`t get back to sleep so i got up and so far have done two loads of washing, put the dw on and emptied it again, i have a joint of brisket in the slow cooker which is just about ready so i shall empty that shortly and i have a few things defrosting that i shall use in a mini cookathon in the kitchen later.
I plan on making some kind of wrap with some of the meat and some doughballs and some pies too. I`ll pop along to the GC recipe index later for some inspiration.
Plans for the rest of today include a good clean through upstairs and some paperwork and i also need to pop to the shops later for a couple of bits and pieces. My meal planner needs rewriting and i`ve updated the freezer list too so i shall print off a new copy when i`ve replaced the ink cartridge in the printer.
Looking out of the window its snowing even more now so i can see my trip to the shops being cancelled as the roads will be terrible, fingers crossed that it all disappears - can`t be doing with more disruption!
Anyhow, think that i shall have to brave it as the younger houndie knows the time and is getting restless and whiny so its looking like its wellie time.
Have a smashing day peeps, keep safe & warm.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Good Morning Everyone!
Raining here too, but haven't been out yet. Doggies have had to be content with the garden so far, but have happily mooched around a couple of times - they don't mind the rain at all! Woke up at 6.30am so got up and began serious kitchen clean. DW has finished and is now on a cleaning cycle. Need to do a wool wash today - am going to try the programme on the WM - no point having it if I never use it, is there? I just hope DH's jumpers will be OK, but really don't fancy a big handwashing session.
Just had call from DS who pointed out that we hadn't yet spoken this year! We do text loads of times every day so hardly a case of not keeping in touch! Anyway, he and DGD will be with us around 7pm this evening. Looking forward to the pantomime tomorrow afternoon.
Glad to say DH is beginning to sound a lot better - and my peak-flow count has gone from just under 300 to nearly 400 in 48 hours. Things are looking up! Need to visit Mr T today to get in a few extras for this w/e - but have so far spent less than £7 this year - exactly what is in the sistercas fund today of course! Have been wondering whether to transfer £31 out at the start of each month ( or however many days there are!) into an e-savings account. Less easy to miss a day then - or to "borrow" if I need change. What do you think?
Oh well, must get a shift on. Hope the white stuff some of you are having doesn't cause too much hassle.
Have a good Friday - and take care!Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0
