For heavens sake woman, think laterally. If you are running out of cupboard space, there is always the loft:whistle:

Last year was my first year of participating in the Boots 75% off sale and I loved it! I bought a HUGE stash, visiting 2 shops on the day having done a reiki (sp?) the day before! Im quite proud to say I dont have much left over from that stash as I made sure I allocated each item to someone before I bought it. The excess is just from buying gifts for people that I then didnt need to buy for come Christmas. These are being reallocated for birthdays this year though :D. Im going to go more down the handmade route for xmas this year (jams, chutneys, jewellery etc) but will of course still need birthdays so shall be checking this forum regularly for updates hahaha I didnt buy anything in 50% off this year. I have got nearly £30 in points and a £10 voucher so going to try and be sensible and only spend this rather than spend a fortune. Going to try have a neutral christmas :D.

I knew someone, somewhere had to be using this forum sensibly. I also knew it wasn't me:o

The trouble is, it is allllllll so addictive. Bargain hunting is like stalking big game and I can't always bring myself to part with the trophies.

I look at things and think ... nah, that's too nice to give away and anyways, I don't even really like her that much.....

Well if it isn't on, it isn't on. Let's face it none of actually needs the stuff, we just want it.

If you want the fun of buying it but are never going to use it I've got a solution. Tot up what you'd give to charity in the year and then enjoy spending it on really good bargains. Then give the items to the charity of your choice. They can use the sets for raffles or split the items up for tombolas and so on. Rather than a charity shop, every town will have a local fundraising committee for particular charities that run small events all year round. They will be incredibly grateful for the items.

My Mum is on her town's Cancer Research (as was) fundraising committee and they are desperate for support for small events all year round. I don't need any Boots stuff, to be honest. However, I'll be all over the 75% off sale for bits and pieces for Mum's group's fundraising coffee mornings, etc. You can even get a gift set, take out the items you want and donate the rest.

To me, as a bit of a shopaholic it is way more fun than sticking money in a charity boxes over the year and the charity can also, perhaps, double the money on the items!

Rummaged through my gift stash from last year's 75% off sale and found 2 sanctuary gift sets, an Accessorise vanity case, 3 Miss Sixty perfume sets, a Morgan perfume set and 2 body butter gift sets, so DEFINITELY will be staying well clear this year. I even had a Jamie Oliver 'posh bread spread' set with a wee wooden chopping board. The spreads went in the bin as they went out of date in October. I'm ashamed to say this is NOT very 'money saving' :(

This made me smile as very much like my stash before xmas this year. My oldest DD was really pleased with the Morgan set and I remember only paying couple of pounds for it. The Accessorise vanity cases were birthday presents earlier in the year. :D

So hoping for more bargains this year to fill 3 DDs stockings in 2011, even though oldest is 20 she would be upset not to have one. I only have 1 Boots gift from last years sale that didnt get used so I think I judged quite well, not so good on the Bodyshop stash though quite a lot there still. :rotfl:

Anyway popped into my local Boots today and you would not have thought xmas had been and gone, shelves restocked and stacked high, guess they are hoping for good sales this weekend, but I reckon they wont shift it all at 50%. ;)
