Horsham and Crawley stores have LOADS of stock left, like 8 aisles full in each :)

Out of interest which one are you going to aim for? I went for Horsham last year because I was getting my haircut there that day and it was pretty good but I mainly went for toys and am worried that most of the toys won't be in the sale so maybe I'm better going for Crawley?

Anyway the whole of the upstairs front bit and half of the back upstairs bit was 75% off and they were wheeling extra stuff out whilst I was there. Doesn't sound like its going to be as good this year

Just had a conversation with a Boots SA, apparently they have been told it is not on next week, he didnt think it would be on at all from what he was told.

Now I am in a predicament, do I use my points for the things I would like, or do I wait it out and see if anything happens? They cant just hold onto the tatt they have left in all these stores, at some point surely it has to be marked down. Maybe when the realisation takes hold there is no 75% off they think that people will rush out and buy at 50%. At some point soon they have to make way for their spring/summer stock - as in Tesco's who are flogging off all their xmas stuff cheap to make way for the easter eggs that have been gradually appearing since Boxing Day !!!!!

I would say buy the things you want now. If they do go down in the next few weeks, buy again and return the old items (make sure to save the receipt!). And I think they *can* hang onto the tat in the stores -- I remember during the year last year things from xmas stock would just randomly pop up in the one little clearance shelf at my local. I think they saved it rather than put it to 75% and put it out here and there. Some of it probably got sent to the outlet store, too.

to save me scouring the posts do we actually have any definite date for 75% yet
  • Skibster's right - doggy book ends were appearing for months afterwards! And I wouldn't expect too much from outlet places like Becton. It used to be clean, with orderly displays of items, clearly marked, but the last time I went, it was awful.

Loads of tatty half-opened items, strewn across the floors, boxes with items clearly missing, and very little you wanted to touch, let alone buy. :(

The warehouses must have millions of the electrical No 7 items, like mirrors and palm massagers, because the packaging is several years old, but they regularly revert to full price. In fact, the label beneath, in tiny writing, reads that they are reduced until the 10th January, which is tomorrow. HTH

Just to add to the mystery....:o
Last year, the big Boots in St Enoch's Centre Glasgow moved ALL of their 50% off sale stuff to other branches around the city - Buchanan Galleries and Sauchiehall Street, the MONDAY before the sale started leaving them with no sale stock at all. My friend has just text me from the branch in the St. Enoch centre saying the staff are in the process of putting all their sale stuff onto trollies and taking it away. Might be significant? Who knows? The 12th does seem a little early but then if there's not much left maybe the last few dregs will get reduced this week and that will be that?
    The excitement continues...:rotfl:

Not really as it was later last year due to slow sales and the snow around the 19th.

I have a feeling that in Jan 2009 it was around the 14th of January.
