  • Morning life

Well today we got up and made it out on time so it's a good start! Not too many arguements along the way either!

I'm off to check accounts before pay day tomorrow.

Yesterday I called Barclays as my loan payment amount (direct debit) had decreased, by the amount I had overpaid by!!! Kind of defeats the object. anyway it's a technical glitch and she suggested making an overpayment the same day the actual payment comes out or the day after, surely that'd just have an effect on the following months? So they suggested to save it as I'd already mentioned. I wanna see the figures coming down though, saving isn't as exciting as paying it off.

I have this pay and the next one to get all the xmas presents with. Oh and I owe car tax tomorrow too however i shall juggle this and that and see where we get to.

    Happy Thursday everyone

It's so frustrating sometimes isn't it? I get annoyed with myself sometimes as well, especially as I had what I thought was an LBM on 13K of debt years ago and clearly didn't learn! I think we just have to think to ourselves that at least we are doing it now :D

I might be wrong but I think Barclays loans are the same as Lloyds one's as in the interest is calculated daily so it's better if you pay little and often rather than saving till the end so that you pay less interest.

Could you not make overpayments when you can and then if the DD decreases just transfer over the difference the day after? That's what I used to do with my CC when the payment was reduced :)

  • Morning diary!!!

    Pay day today - yipppeee.

Tesco is ordered to be delivered tonight so that's one problem sorted.

I've paid all the CC's, put diesel in the car (£40 which I hope will last me until I finish on 16th Dec!) and accounted for school expenses which I will go in an order later today.

Ebay's finishing tonight so should get extra few quid there to Christmas.

I need to get the car taxed however new log book's not come so that is causing some deliberation. Then I want to order Dad's sat nav as that's his only present (well bar stocking filler type chocs but that will be the week up to xmas using next month's pay). Also I need an itunes voucher for nephew - where the hell do I get that from? Lol. Then that's 3 out of 4 done, # 4 just getting cash and choc anyway as awkward age and nothing's good enough!

Left is MIL/FIL and respective partners, my mum who's birthday it is too. Will have to get bday present first and it's before next pay day.....

    Oh and christening to sort!

I feel borderline in control so that's a good thing - first xmas without OD I keep reminding myself.

You can get Itunes vouchers from places like Tescos and Clintons Cards or direct from the website if you'd rather order online :)

  • D'oh - I forgot the itunes voucher. Never mind, plenty of time yet!

Well a productive weekend was had - getting ready for Christening and putting the decs up. We have lists coming out of ours ears (Mam and me, now DH! He just sits quietly in the background lol).

Had Tesco delivery on Fri night so my pantry's bulging and all stocked up until the Xmas delivery. I am going to get at the fresh stuff sent a day or 2 before so fingers crossed it turns out ok as normally go to the shop for it.

Finances are doing well, everything on track and the bit extra ebay is making is helping out too.

Just plodding along before the 2012 hit starts. Although the first couple of months won't be as bigger hit to the debt as I hoped as there's the holiday to pay for which has happened earlier than planned! Life goes on though and it is going to be a fantastic holiday.

Christmas is coming and I am soooo excited!!!!!

Off to revise as the exam is looming. (with a glass of red!)
