It is hard as it's good to see debts starting with a smaller figure, I'm the same - think it makes it feel more achievable.

Use the snowball calculator to work out what order to pay them all in - it's amazing to see the difference in interest saved it can make :)
Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j
• YesI agree, get rid of the one with the highest interest first and then youre not paying interest on interest.

Ok guys decision made.
Next is going. YEY. Lol - once chq arrives of course.
Then I will put remainder to highest interest (Cap1) and target that.
I will save myself a small amount for a treat as mentioned before and will post the figures when I do it.
I have new goals now too.

Next and OD paid in 2011.
Cap1 paid in 2012 (means overpaying snowball figures by £150 a month)
Virgin paid in 2013 (going to be hard!)
Rest paid in 2014 with all free'd up cash.
DF by Summer 2014 - original estimate for diary only 2 years out !!!!

I will start a new diary each January for that year's challenge and what it means to me when I am DF.

Bring it on!!!!

im going to have a new diary in a january too.... my target this year has been to clear 30k of debt, I will probably try the same next year.
What a great plan, isnt it fantastic to have things crossed off the list.

I had a PPI claim accepted in end May, for 2700, and I am still waiting of the money through, I think once they have accepted they currently have 16 weeks to process them through. Hope yours is faster than mine is turning out to be!!

Sounds like a great plan to me DF! You're definitely covering all the bases by allocating the money that way - reducing your number of creditors and hitting the highest interest rate. I love your goals too, summer 2014 really isn't that far away!

Last night was a stressful one to start. I went in and started tea, house was empty for about 20 mins so got changed and put some milk on stove to start a white sauce off - was in rush so put it on high to start it off, forgot about it, boiled over and put the gas out so when I smelt the gas I remembered!

Then made HM garlic bread, tasted ok, looked terrible! Did a ham joint and a cake to make max use of the oven - used home grown apples which had purreed as a base and sponge on the top - turned out that tasted nice, looked like !!!! - theme here?

It was boiling hot in the kitchen, DS was crying and DD was wanting my full attention and DH was not being much help! Needless to say I was stressed. But all made up for when DD came and gave me a big cuddle after bath time and asked if that made me happy now - heart melted and I felt awful for being irritated!

Stayed up to read the boards and as usual didn't sleep until too late so felt tired this morning but ok so far.

My car has a new problem - the exhausts insides are coming out. Sounds dramatic but apparently it's now a big thing.

I have started researching for the dream. Looking at owning farm animals and so on. It's too exciting though and I get carried away and want to do it NOW lol.

One worry I have is that when we come to remortgage for a new place, the place, I hope my previous debt (as it'll be gone at this point) won't have an effect on the application. I'll be debt free and won't have missed payments for multiple years. However, I will only be recently debt free - how long's it take to reflect on your credit profile?

Need to research that too!

I can't tell anyone in the "real world" except my best mate this, but I need to say it. I just got an email through - I failed my xam that I recently went for - the one my promotion was relying on. I can resit it (if they will pay!) in Dec but I have to tell my boss now (not yet as will cry!) and I feel like a failure!

This feeling will pass I know, but I hate feeling like this in the mean time.
