Strikes me that by flashing his headlights he was encouraging drivers to slow down to a safe speed.... However as he was causing a loss of revenue, he get prosecuted for his good deed....

Where are all those fools who still think speed camera's aren't about making money???

It depends on how you argue the case as if he saw lots of friends on the way home he flashed to say hello to hem all he needed was a witness or two.

how ridiculous! if they'd spent half the manpower trying to catch the Ipswich killer that they use on catching people speeding, Steve Wright wouldnt have been able to kill 5 women

Speeding drivers kill more people than Steve Wright did.

what i meant was there's lots of more serious crimes the police need to be investigating, instead of earning extra money by persecuting drivers (speeding or otherwise). trouble is, theyre bogged down in beurocracy and paperwork instead of being out there in the community. I'm sure you're more statistically likely to be a victim of a serious crime than be killed in a car accident.

I find that the police in my area do not persecute legal drivers.

My local newspaper is always full of reports of road accident victims.

Not sure what the point of that question is to be honest.

Why do some people think that it is OK to ignore the law on some things like speeding, the speed limits are there for all of our benefit.

Perhaps if a close family member was maimed for life by a speeding driver, they may well change their tunes.
