    I'm up to £30 already - 15% of the way there :j
(sold some books, cashed in some loose change and had a little bit of overtime money spare to add to it)
Only after the last tree has been cut down,
Only after the last river has been poisoned,
Only after the last fish has been caught,
Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten

Hello  first time on these boards although I post on others and I would love to join you all if I can.

I hope to save £2500 by December. Thankfully we have no debts to pay off- just usual bills like everyone has - and our mortgage has been paid. That in its self is a miracle.
On the down side we dont have loads of money coming in, hubby has retired and gets normal state pension plus a small pension from when he worked thats all the money we have coming in but on the other hand we are not big spenders.

This £2500 is seperate from any other savings we have (not a lot but some) and I am not saving for anything in particular.
For now I will be adding it to a Britannia account I already have but which pays only 0.25% interest so really need to look into this soon. Have never done on line banking and not sure I want to start either.

So far have put away £82.25 this year and should be adding to it next week.

    TOTAL - £82.25/£2500
    MARCH £62.38/250

Right, time to make a serious dent!

Been shopping in Aldi today and have about 2 weeks worth apart from a bread and milk top up at some point, though I have some milk that I froze in the freezer aswell - I bought one of the big 2 litres from Farmfoods for £1 and split it into smaller portions :)

Anyway, trying to work out what I can live off for the rest of the month for petrol, going out and general spends and have transferred £400 towards target, so now at £738.39.

I'm hopefully going to get some daily clicks money later in the month and hopefully some survey sites too. Will be listing a few more small things on ebay tomorrow too.

Hope everyones having a good weekend!

    Hi Linz

Please can I join in the challenge a bit late on? I'd like to save £1000 by the end of the year by being sensible.

    Thanks

Of course you can join in Ginger. :)

I'm wondering whether to edit the first post or not as everyone here has different aims over different periods of the year. I'm still keeping to my 31 March target for the moment, but will probably carry on throughout the year setting myself more short-term targets. It helps motivate me into looking for stuff to ebay, cooking/meal planning and being more strict with myself when out shopping. :)

Another £350 into BSoc. today, everyone is on store cupboard and freezer meals this week. If I can only keep this up. I should be ok this week and next, but after that the next 2 weeks are hard-up weeks anyway.

Another £250 added when I got paid last week - that takes it to £1000 off my £6000 total.

Got a nice suprise today aswell....I've a large credit balance with the Gas company so £100 is winging its way to the savings pot in the next few days!!!
  • £400 in again today, Maybe I can do this?
