Yeah I'll join in - I'd like to save £200 by the end of April to be short-term-savings for holidays etcOnly after the last tree has been cut down,
Only after the last river has been poisoned,
Only after the last fish has been caught,
Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten0 -
Been doing great this week, Started taking lunch to work with me and not buying anything unless essential. Have another hundred to add to my fund if nothing come's out of my account tomorrow. Listed more things on ebay as well so will update sig when they finish :beer:0

Welcome to the latest posters.
Ok today I have transfered £55 from current account to savings as I should have enough to last the rest of the month. Possibly can afford another £20-30 too but will leave it til next week and see how i'm getting on. Also requested £8.18 from Speedcashback to paypal but will update paypal figure next week when ebay sales clear.
In other frugalness I peeled, parboiled & froze some potatoes that had started growing shoots in the cupboard. Pre-MSE I'd have binned them but not nowAlso used some chopped onions in my tea that I had frozen a few weeks ago coz they were going off too.
Tomorrow i'm off to see what Farmfoods has to offer on my lunch break. I've seen the big 4 pint milks for £1 which I will get and then seperate and freeze, using smaller cartons as I go along. Cheaper than getting the 1 litre cartons at 45p a time
So update on total so far = £231.73. Am hoping I will be able to add some of next months pay to this, even if I do talk myself into getting the iphoneThink I can still make it to £1500, all these little frugal tips will hopefully help
Hope everyone's doing well!#39 - Save £12k in 20250 -

tks michelle, ill be looking at sim only contracts once this 12 month one with tesco is over with, i have a crap phone at the mo so want a smartphone (read iphone
and i like the idea of a short 12 month contract without being tied in to 24 months at 30 or 40 odd. tks for letting me know, ill keep an eye on the sim onlys when im further into the contract.
Edit - crap crap crap! Looked on Tesco website for number to call and they've put the price up by £5 a month! Gits! Probably gonna think about getting a 'used but in vgc' one off play or amazon now I think and getting a £10 sim-only from giffgaff. grrrrr#39 - Save £12k in 20250 -
Afternoon all, So, i have paid another £16.00 to additions over the last few days which is great! What is not so great is the £37.69 interest they added at the weekend! So i think i'm going to re-jiggle my budget and see what else i can squeeze out of it. Other than that, i have listed a ton of items on ebay so crossing my fingers for that as it will all go to additions.

Hi all
I'd like ot join in on this one.....no debt as such (bar mortgage) and despite earning a good wage (£3.5k- 4k per month) I never have any savings!
My plan is to save £6k by year end to enable us to move house at start of 2012. We have a fair bit of equity but I want to save to pay the solicitors survery etc.
So here goes.... So far I've put £400 aside from Decembers pay, and I've managed to do 2 days freelance this month so thats another £350 gone in - £750 so far - I think its a good start?
Pay slip for January available tomorrow so i'll know then what I can add!!
Great thread so far!
