Hi all,
Well the ebay stuff has sold and I have £15 in my paypal. Will leave it in there until I get the monthly update from Speedcashback next week of approx £8 then withdraw probably £20 leaving the rest to cover ebay fees.
Apart from that I've just opened the First Direct current account and am in the middle of the transfer process so will have to keep some money in that and my Halifax account for the next few weeks to make sure I don't go overdrawn in any whilst the DD's are sorting themselves out. Good thing is First Direct offer £100 for joining and it's two fingers up to Halifax who wouldn't give me a mortgage a while back(still keeping the account open for the £5 a month, will just sweep £1k from FD and back.)
I have some turkey fillets in the freezer that i'm having with roasted veg tomorrow and Thurs then it's off to my parents for the weekend so don't need to buy anymore food this week apart from milk. Already have bread, breakfast and packed lunch stuff for work so hoping food shop for the rest of the month will be quite cheap. Got some whoopsied frozen sausages for toad in the hole and some more turkey steaks aswell for next weeks meals. Oh, and have plenty of branstons beans that were on offer recently for the 'something on toast night' which tends to be a Monday these days as I go swimming & don't like eating lots beforehand.
Ok i'm rambling now, will be back in a few days with a revised total when it's nearer the end of the month.
All the best everyone#39 - Save £12k in 20250 -

sorry, its me again
Have paid £19.50 off additions today and have counted up my coppers so will have another £4 from there. That will be it for this week but it's a good start at least.
The girls are going to their dad's house on sunday, so ive roped my best friend into sorting the loft out with me in aid of finding stuff to ebay. I dont think she actually knows what she's let her self in for lol

Hi All,
I would like to change my goal for this challenge to finding an 'extra' £1243.22. Is that OK? I'll start with whatever's left in my bank account on payday (if anything!), ebay in a couple of days, cashback end of March, and whatever i can scrape together in between!
Have now applied for a second savings account to funnel this money into!goodgirl80 wrote: »Hi there,
Is it too late to join in? I have set myself a goal of paying off £1420.81 by March 31.
January - have paid £373.27 = £1047.540 -
My mobile phone contract with 3 runs out in 2 months and they are not offering anything near to what I want. I have seen what I think is a good offer on an Iphone 4 with Tesco mobile. It's been going for about 6 months but i've only just seen it doing a google search.
Bad news - It is £349 up front.
Good news - then only £20 a month for a 12 month contract (250 mins, unlimited texts, 1GB internet). I know it's an expensive phone but i'm thinking long term and would be able to go SIM only after a year, rather than being tied to a £40odd a month contract for 2 years. I'd plan to keep the phone for a long time and if and when i came to upgrade in the future I would get hopefully a half decent price for selling/recycling it.
More good news - I've rang 3 and have reduced to the lowest tariff for £9.50 a month. The foreign guy 'thought I had a nice voice' and also gave me 5000 texts for free.
More good news - Topcashback offer £35 cashback plus 1000 Tesco clubcard points (worth £40 I think). I'd also pay for it on my Nectar credit card for the few quids worth of points (paying off straight away).
Bit more good news - Once 3 contract is cancelled on 7 March I would recycle my naff Nokia for about £30-£40.
Just need to number crunch if I'll still be able to achieve my goal on 31 March lol#39 - Save £12k in 20250 -
My lovely boyfriend is paying for my car to be fixed (A lorry scratched it badly), it's £200, so I've put £150 into my ISA and left the extra £50 in my account until I know for sure that my bills are all sorted this month
£170 saved out of £1000I'll update my signature ! woo !
