And Austrian schloss' are much more ecological than gas guzzling monsters so all ist gut! :D

Cheri, I think, as well as your quotes of the day, you need to start posting a piece of music of the day, so people like me, who know nothing about classical music, but actually quite like it, might learn a thing or two!

That reminds me. I have to go to Luton early September. It just so happens to tie in with the last night of the proms weekend. Hmmmmmm so how to make it there. Tried asking a friend last night if she would look after Moo for me but she is poorly at the moment so didnt like to ask. It would be great to go if I get the chance. Now how to afford it is the next questions

"When I am . . . traveling in a carriage, or walking after a good meal, or during the night when I cannot sleep; it is on such occasions that ideas flow best and most abundantly."

Said Mozart. I thought he might inspire you further in your goal to making it to the proms. You can chose which symphony :D. And here's hoping those ideas flow abundantly for you!

As I've no idea how much juggling you might need to do, I will stem my (ahem) ...flow... of ideas for now! :rotfl: Honest, there might have been some intelligent ones! (like how I even made sure I went with an Austrian composer. Though, to be fair, aren't all composer's Austrian? ;) )

Cheri, thats what I love about diaryland, reminding us of ultimate goals and why we are here.
Oh and Eat Pray Love ? Loved the book, really inspirational, think I raved about it on my diary, didn't like the film, lost all context of why she was doing it, and how her friendships were formed. But that's just me :)

We thought Little Miss Sunshine was a bit ridiculous. My friend kept saying 'Who would put their child up for this?'

I want to see oranges and sunshine but the book was brilliant so I'm a bit concerned whether it will get close to the book.

  • I LOVED Little Miss Sunshine - yes it was rather on the ridiculous side :D

But as a film it really resonated with me, as I used to look rather like little Olive but with thicker glasses. I still loved pretty things but my mum couldn't understand it as she wasn't into pink/fluffy. I thought it was heart warming that her parents seemed to be supporting her dreams and encouraging her to join in on equal terms :) and it was nice that the desire to enter all those competitions came from her, not from a mother who was living through her (as you see often in this area, and in musical competitions which I had a lot of experience of as a child - I wanted to do them, but met so many kids who were being forced into it, not nice for anyone :()

(trying not to give too much away here about the film!)

I was introduced to it by my old housemate, and now it is top of the list when I am feeling a bit down. The ending is absolutely brilliant :j

I love you all, we move from quotes to music to film so effortlessly. Wonderful. I will admit that when I have read a really good book I am often very disappointed in the film. A book gives you so much more opportunity to expand on a theme, use your imagination to build the character (who, by the way, never looks the same in a film. I mean I love Morgan Freeman but he is never Alex Cross - well in my mind, Alex Cross is much more Sidney Poitier)
Well, I didn't spend the money so it went into the respective pigs for future dreams.

It is Moo's birthday today - he is seven.
