Strange, I see him as quite handsome, dark and brooding, definitely a white shirt and smart trousers kind of man. I think Grouch might sum that feeling up well! Just one stair at a time (I was actually thinking of the Grand 'Ole Duke of York as I was listening to kermit! When he was only half way up, he was neither up nor down.)
The weather cannot always be so grey. Mr C will be back soon. You will have found a way to go to The Proms in September. And you are slowly climbing those stairs making you closer and closer to you Austrian dream.
And it's perfectly ok to be sitting halfway up the stairs feeling sad because you are happy. As long as you don't sit there for so long you get cramp!Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

PS George Clarke? Really? Much as I like him, I want him helping me build my sustainable house by the sea/loch/water somewhere...Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

KC, you are spot on. I felt a little glum yesterday but know that I have lots to look forward to so it was that stuck in the middle kind of feeling.
Nic, exactly Grouch such a good word. I was a grouch yesterday, resulting in me having a glass of red wine and getting very silly on a few threads so the day ended with a smile. Don't you love MSEers?
This morning I have been up and out early. Not having the car means I need to get inventive for Moo's morning walk. The roads around the village are all going to other villages or heading into town so it is a bit of a thoroughfare on the roads that go to the little side roads. This morning I was out at the crack of dawn, gorgeous. I returned with 21bs of plums, 10 apples, a handful of what I think are damsons (will check that out later and if so go back for more) and 5 purple Hydrangea heads (courtesy of an old lady who was tending her garden and loved that I stopped to admire her garden) and some poppy seed heads. Shame I dont have a garden but I do have a front garden that is tidy so they seeds are going to spread under the kitchen window.
So today I am working but decided to give myself a late start. I have lots of flexi and have a feeling that I might need to do a couple of hours at the weekend. With that in mind so far I have
- walked Moo
- cleaned Mr Parrots cage
- quick swish of worktops in kitchen
- had a dance to lightening seeds
- put the food compost into the outside compost bin
- moved the inside bin to the outside
- put the recycling bag out
- one load of washing (needs hanging)
- eating breakfast now.
And I will finish with this pearl of wisdom for the day
“Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is the noble art of leaving things undone. The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of non-essentials.”

Sounds better today - and yes, mse is brilliant! Part of the brilliance is you and your quotes and your European adventure, of course
The wild fruits sound amazing! Are the damsons the sort of size of large olives?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
cheri, thank you for posting the link, I have never seen the muppets apart from on Sesame St occasionally so didn't know that song, it's perfect for where I am at the mo - in between leaving an old life behind and starting a new one
here is my song of the moment http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFeVluO20f0 - a song about being sad but getting over it and very upbeat too :j and definitely one for dancing to!
I am intrigued by all the books/characters that have been mentioned, I haven't really tucked into any good fiction for ages so will check some of these out :T
