Glad the recipe is a hit with a few of you. KC I fully understand, I often go through phases of cooking as little as possible but then I remember how much I love to cook when I have time off work and put some effort in again.
Ellie, thanks I do make a three bean chilli quite regularly but I am always open to new recipes. I have subscribed to that thread too it looks like a hoot.
So today I had a surprise day out to Chester. Mr C took the day off and took me out for a change of scenery. He realised that I needed an injection of "life" as I have been feeling a bit miserable lately. I have had a really lovely day and on the way home I got to listen to tonights Prom in the car. Would have preferred to be there as it was the one prom I had been looking forward to all year. Still bigger things to think about at the moment so there will always be other weekends.
Now then, off for a glass of red. Anybody fancy one? Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Uhm, do you mind if I stick with my earl grey?
My head is too frazzled and I'm pretty sure a glass of red would send me over the edge
. (Frazzled because I have been double-checking my budget. On a Friday night. Fundamental mistake!

Best not at this time of the morning
.
How thoughtful of him to take you out for the day :A.
Did he ask to get paid, after all it is a normal part of the contract when you are working!!??One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!
2015 - my Amazon Gift Certificate mini challenge - saving to buy small household electrical items.

Ah, Nic, big mistake Friday nights not the best for checking budgets. Hope it balanced ok. I loooooove Earl Grey tea - its the bergamot to give me a lift.
Me, he did ask to be paid,(the company he works for is a 2 man band and they are a bit scatty not to mention - as I am sure you understand- have trouble getting people to pay up themselves.) they were very apologetic and hadn't realised it had been so long. Hence the surprise day out. He had some money for fuel. It is a long drive to Chester from here (2 hours) so a full on day out. We had a potter around the shops, luckily we did not spend any money just browsed although I was lusting after a Macbook pro in the Apple shop (I use one for work and love it). We walked around the walls, and then sat by the river and had a shandy. I love being by water and that is one thing I will miss in Austria. I also love to have the buzz of a city from time to time. This year I am missing my regular trips to London for the proms and began to feel a little flat. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Chester! Wonderful - good for you for being not spendy
sorry you're missing the proms tho, that must be hard.
I missed the glass of wine last night (envelope stuffing, of all things!) but I'll have one tonight, when I get in from Harry Potter
Hope you have a nice day.
xxx2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thanks KC. Yes it is a shame that I havent made it to the proms, I feel quite sad about it but I have to look at the bigger picture and right now I am working towards something much more tangible and that makes it a little easier. Although I have business to attend to in Luton in September so I may be able to combine that with the last night if I can get my act together. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Well, I am up a bit later, been trundling around the diaries waiting for the rain to go off so I can take Moo to the forest. It is very wet and grey here.
In money news, I have now paid of my Norty Norbert loan (last payment went on Friday). Which I am very pleased about as it was a top up of my savings to buy my car and have a new roof on my previous house. As I now have neither of those things (and no car whatsoever) then I am sure you can imagine how niggled I was to still be paying that off. This means that the payment can be diverted elsewhere if earnings in a certain direction are stabilised.
What to do with myself on the very last day of my holidays. Yes I return to the grindstone tomorrow. Off to North Wales on Tuesday and Wednesday for work as well. Not looking forward to how many emails will be in my inbox tomorrow though. Still it will be sorted tomorrow. Today should be fun but I am not convinced that the weather will allow for too much outdoor activity. Hey ho. I am off to put my wellies on and splash in the stream. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Yey to paying off Norbert! :T :T :T :T Well done you. Yes it is very galling to still be paying for things when they're gone!
Bleurgh to going back to workBut J :j :j :j for splashing in streams :j :j
