  • Cheri, hun, don't beat yourself up pleeeeeeeease!

A thought on the cars, if Mr C is out of work for a while can you manage with just one car until then and share it, then once he gets another job, work out what amount you could spend etc. If he got a job with a years contract for X amount you might get something newer that you know you can pay off over that year, especially if you can "manage" on one wage.

The whole off in lala land is so me at the moment, I spend 7 hours getting DH's phone to work properly and also connect to the PC ( I was ready to through the whole lot out the window) yet I could have left it and done my own work, and I'm still sitting here reading diaries. Bet go beat myself up :p

    Thanks EH and ME.

Me - would love nothing more than to make do with one car (especially as I will be paying the loan and insurance on his car) but his car is a little small for Moo and also he is reluctant to allow him in it too often as he is a bit messy. Now he hasnt asked me to pay the loan or insurance and I am sure that I could say nothing and he would be fine with it. However I cannot bear the thought of bills not being paid and he wont be having any money coming in at all. So needs must. Where I live is lovely but there is not really a great amount of space to walk Moo. Sounds mad but all of the fields around me are filled with sheep and the only off lead time he can have is the forest which is quite a way from home. Although it is walkable on a day when I am not working and have a few hours spare and also on light nights after work. Added to that I want my own car that I can decide what to do with it and where I plan to go in it without having to check first if it is ok. Again Mr C would be happy for me to use his car - he keeps saying it is the team car. But I want my independance too. Sorry I am being stroppy arent I?

I went out to the local town. Got vegetables in for the next few days tea. Planned what I will be making over the next couple of days and bought what I needed. I didnt spend any money in the charity shops but I did buy myself a new Harlen Coben book in Bookstores or whatever they are called. 2 volumes in 1 for £1.99. They had an offer of 3 for £5 but I couldnt find 3 that I liked. I did, however, find lots of recipe and cookery books, including one with 100 muffins with one basic recipe. I stopped myself from buying it when I realised that I had probably already made a lot of them by making them up as I went along. I am a sucker for cookery books and I really need to reduce them. I then wandered down to the prom and had a sit on the bench overlooking the sea for a while. I always feel happy when I am by the sea. The main supermarket is a little way out of town so I walked down there to get bits and then discovered that on a Saturday the village bus doesnt go any where near them so I had to walk back into town to catch the bus! Just made it in time.

Arrived home to a note through the door to say that I had been visited by the TV licence people. As I had not replied to their letter to tell them that I did not have a licence they had to visit. Mind you the note also says they will visit if I say I dont have a tv so not much point in replying to the letter anyway because they wouldnt believe me. They did come last year so why they need to come again I have no idea. Is it me or is the country turning into a guilty before proven innocent kind of place? And why should I have to allow them into my house to prove that I dont have a tv. Do they not have detector vans anymore and is sending a visitor not costing licence payers a lot of money? Wouldnt want that job.

    Well I've just caught up

Firstly I want to give you a big hug - you're going through so much at the moment and you do need to stop beating yourself up - right now - or I'll come down and give you a real life hug and that WILL scare you senseless.

Um, like cheery said - no wonder you're feeling overwhelmed - you're knackered and you've had so much on. You've had that accident - which will take ages to heal from emotionally and tbh - you've come back from a lovely holiday and probably a bit down from that (normally I am after holidays).

Moo WILL absolutely fit into a Berlingo (I'm sure you know this, but here's the proof) - I can get this in the back of mine with no fangling with moving seats - that is 3 bales of straw

Peedie didn't fit in the boot anymore and had to walk home (OK he got a lift in the front but didn't like what I'd put in the car - which is his mobile office/kennel/snoozing apartment during the day when he comes to work with me.

Anyway - I've finallysubscribed so I don't lose you again - with all the new diaries started this year I'd kind of found you/lost you/found you/lost you

    (())

    xxxxxxx

Very sorry about the random car pics thought it might help reassure you - that car fully comp was £151 - it does 400 miles to a tank and is wonderful - if it was human I'd marry it.

Lol Pippi! Where's Peedie going to sit?!

Mr Daffs and I are thoroughly intending to sleep in our Berlingo, so you should be able to get Moo in there! :D

Cheery he wasn't a happy dog - all that straw for the pesky chickens - we did let him sit in the front, just this once :)

Oh and I bought my car over the phone, didn't see it, didn't go look at it, had it checked by AA I think, paid for it over the phone and a friend who was coming up from inverness brought it here for me.

simples - that was 8 and a bit years ago. Worked brilliantly ever since aside the exhaust falling off the day before cheery came.

    All fixed now and mot'd.

  • Love the pics! See a berlingo would be perfect.

Just thought if it would work it might give you more time but I fully get the independance bit if you are used to having one. I'd go insane :rotfl:.

We are what could be classed as 4 miles from the sea but its mud flats and a coastal walk - really is great for letting the dogs run but not fun when your other half tips you in the mud .

Funny you should say that - yup - we've a real problem with something like that at work, hence me getting the 'free' straw as its gone a bit rank.

I take the worse of it out and use the rest for the chooks.

:) been meaning to say hi to you for ages :)

Wow, where did you lot pop up from?

Pippi, that is so funny that picture. I had worked out that Moo would be very happy in there but that does confirm it. Like you I have found a couple of cars that are miles away. I have a cunning plan at the moment to get one or two in the North West checked out. Then OH could bring it back when he returns from his hols. Will let you all know how I go on with that one.

Cheery, sleeping in it sounds like fun too. We could have done with it in Germany when we had to keep stopping and paying for hotels that we werent booked into.

Me - tipping in the mud should be fun. I think sometimes its good to be a kid. Sounds like you live in a nice part of the world too.

Right Moo is looking at me with big sad eyes and wimpering. I think that means that he wants an adventure. So the cleaning is going to have to wait. I am off to find the hill fort. Been here two years and still havent found it. It is a lonnng walk but the sun just came out so I will pack a flask and a sandwich for me and a bottle of water and jumbone for Moo and tootle off. Camera (works canon ixus) in my pocket I still need that All Change picture for the challenge.

Thanks ladies, you have really perked me up.
