And that is my first day back at work done and dusted. Now off to cook myself a very lovely mushroom omellete or risotto. Today is the start of me getting into a proper routine again. I also need to eat better (for that read eat!) as I have slipped into the CBA mode for meals when I have been on my own. Decided that was a big contribution to getting so run down before Christmas. So 2011 added goal. Look after myself. Need to add that up at the top. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. What a lovely evening I had last night. It was the first step in me getting my after work life on track and I think that I started out quite well.
I made a rather lovely risotto for tea, mushrooms, onions, garlic, arborio rice and a shaving of parmesan. Lovely. Then I took Moo for a walk. Not having the car means that I cannot get to the forest in the evenings as there is a very long walk along the main road into the village which is not lit and has lots of bends with cars driving as mad as anything. So I took my torch and we headed out of the village up the mountain road. Stopped off at the methodist chapel that I have been meaning to have a look around and wandered around the back. The peace and quiet was deafening - if you see what I mean. Then back home and I finally got my sewing machine out which I rescued from a friend after several years of being on loan to her. I had a nice hour playing about with it to get back into the swing and this morning Moo has a bright new raincoat. He was very dapper in it too. Finally I finished the evening updating Moos blog with details of his holidays and posted it up on facebook and twitter. Where he was promptly featured on Woodsmors facebook page. Thanks Alison. Lots of messages for him this morning. What fun.
Plans for today. Well I have a full days work to do which includes trekking into the town to an office to get my laptop linked back into the network. I need to catch the bus so I will make use of the time to also do a bit of charity shopping in my lunch hour. I am now on the lookout for some nice vintage materials because I want to start making bags again.
Other than that I am going to take the day as it comes. Not putting myself under pressure to do things when I think I should be doing things is another promise to myself. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Moo's blog is fab! Wish I'd realised the Twoofer was at Loggerheads as we'd have come along.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

I know EXACTLY what you mean about the silence being deafening - we find that in the Hebrides, in fact it's one of the things we love about it up there. when we first went it was almost uncomfortable for the first few days each visit - now though we adjust pretty much immediately and one thing we make sure we *always* do on our first evening is to take a stroll up the road just enjoying that fact that we can't hear *anything*. I crave it sometimes here - being just a couple of miles from the M11 as the crow flies means that there is never a time when that applies. Sad.
How will I find Moo on Twitter by the way? He might be interested to take a look at urbangundog and BordercollieX on there - a couple of very active tweeting woofers! Not sad at all EH I love the quiet and whenever I have to go to Cardiff to work I stay in a hotel that overlooks the entrance to the tunnel in the Bay, drives me potty. After many years living in a chemical town just down the road from a factory that buzzed all night it is bliss here. The deafening silence and the complete darkness really freak my friends out when I take them for night time strolls when they visit

Morning Cheri! I wish I was still fast asleep in bed
.
How was last week? I'm still not 100% back in the swing of it, brain is still in holiday mode!
Any more thoughts on career changes?

I have seriously neglected this diary but, more importantly, anything MSE related. I have been rebelling and I put it down to still being in holiday mode.
Pippa, thanks for asking. Last week - went. What more can I say. It was like a whir - so much to do I didnt really know where to start. This week started with a 17 hour day on Monday. Travel and meetings. I have to say that when I get together with my two colleagues I always come away feeling energised and ready to take on the world. We have such great planning meetings but then most of what we plan gets vetoed or overtaken with other things. I am hoping that things will be better come May. I am unable (or unwilling perhaps) to just throw the towel in as I am now the only earner in the household. I need to remind myself of that when I am spending money!!
Bad day today - took Mr C to Morrisons for tea as he was going away tonight and I wont see him for nearly two weeks. So that means that I am here on my own for 2 weeks and as I have no friends nearby I expect to be very lonely. I must make the most of the time to do lots of decluttering. Bit difficult as I have no car to remove said clutter to the tip. Still I can move things around and make some spaces.
I have spotted a very nice Berlingo with low mileage.........200 miles away!!!!!!! So my cunning plan is-
Any thoughts ladies - does it sound like a plan?
- contact RAC to see if they can do a check on it
- Speak to the garage to put a holding deposit on it
- Ask my friend who lives closer if he would be willing to go over and have a look at it if the RAC say it is ok
- If Friend thinks it is ok either ask him to drive it down with my best friend following - I will pay the petrol
- OR - ask them to hold it til Mr C comes homes and he can divert there to check it out and then he could drive it back.

Hope you got my pm
.
I wouldnt put the deposit down, but an RAC check could be a good idea, better to see if you or Mr C can actually look at it. We travelled 4 hours to look at a car that had "good bodywork" - it was rusty and bashed up.One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!
2015 - my Amazon Gift Certificate mini challenge - saving to buy small household electrical items.
Total £9.120 -
Thanks - how do I shorten that on? YAHM :rotfl::rotfl: now I have a vision of a rapping mama in a hoodie waving her arms with lots of chunky jewellery :rotfl::rotfl: Sorry I think i am a bit hysterical.
Yes, that is what is bothering me. The mileage seems very low at 44501 for a 2003 reg and the price is quite good. That was why I thought if my friend went over and had a look. Whilst he isnt mechanical he is picky so he would tell me about the cosmetic side of it and if it is acceptable. Mr C is away now until 2nd Feb and I am car less so unable to get there at all. Trains from here to there are ridiculous at something like 7 hours and I wouldnt be able to leave Moo overnight here. I have seen another one which is closer but has 88000 on the clock is 2005 and asking 2K more.
Will have to go and check out your diary now. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0
