Oh Poles, thank you SO much, I needed that big time. You really made me smile and sigh. Thanks.
Forgot to mention, I am in London for work, just been to a very interesting debate and am now in my very nice hotel. Going to supper in a minute in the brasserie featured on last weeks Masterchef.
Not bragging or anything but hoping to pick up a millionaire to convince him that he needs a seaside retreat.:rotfl::rotfl:Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. That's the spirit Cheri!
:T :T Hope you found your millionaire :j :j
(and you are NOT a wimp! You're so courageous even thinking of this, I'm sure it'll all work out right in the end for you) xxxx0 -
Nope, no millionaire Cheery. I have decided though that posh restaurants and being very hungry do not mix. I decided to treat myself and order a starter too which is a good job because that plus the main equated to less than I would normally eat for breakfast. Also they delivered a bowl of olives as am aperitif (yum my favourites) I ate one before the dish was whisked away and my starter rather poshly stuck in front of me. I was then charged £2.50 for said bowl of olives. You can imagine their surprise when I queried this plus asked them to remove the 12.5 % discretionary service charge that they had added and the £3.30 voluntary charitable donation to some London charity that I had never heard of was also added. I think that they thought they had a nutter on their hands when I told them that public funding was not there to be abused and I would certainly not be party to the attempt to do that. After all my evening meal was on expenses and I usually spend £5 at the most on a sandwich when away despite being allowed up to £30 if staying overnight.
In other news, I am back in with a shout for the house. It seems that there may be a deal breaker thing happening with the other couple. Good news on that front, bad news, I have to be ready to put forward an offer by next week. Some heavy financial discussions and jiggery pokery going on here so I may be quiet for a few days whilst I spend time working out the next move.
