    Lurker popping by!!

Have you got a night light for Moo or are you just using a normal light? If you haven't I have 2 spare ones that are very good - can either be movement sensored or on permanently.

I would be happy to send these on to you.

hi cherisong, sorry to hear about Moo's unsettledness and his fear of the dark.

I have a large elderly greyhound as you may remember. He cries if his bed is messy! And has done so for many years. I think it's a bit of a game for him. He refuses to get up off it so you can make it flat for him (sleeps on a folded over single duvet as greyhounds like to sleep on their sides with their legs stretched out, so most dog beds aren't big enough for him as they are oval shaped), so you shove him off it, flatten it out, then he gets in it. Five minutes later he has screwed it all up to build a nest. Then a bit later he cries because it's messed up :rotfl:

Thankfully this doesn't seem to disrupt any sleep, although he is also terrified of thunder (like most dogs). Mad as he is fine with fireworks. I think some dogs sense the air pressure change.

    Hope Moo settles soon :)

One of my dogs used to be a greyhound cross..he was exactly the same with his bedding and would go round and round in circles mauling at it if it wasn't right and then making it even more of a mess. I wonder if it was part of the breed's nature?

Our other dog, just thought that laps were for bedding or the couch if he thought no one was in..he was a tinker, i think he only used his bed for sulking in:rotfl:
Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:

Eager Elephant, hello and thanks for coming out of lurkdom with such a lovely offer. I do have a night light, thanks. I am pleased to say that we have gone two nights in a row without him waking up. I think that the suggestion from Fantasia did it in the end with the radio. So our night time ritual now is, move the bed away from the storage heater because when it comes on it frightens him, plug in the nightlight because he is afraid of the dark, switch the radio on to keep him company and move the parrots cage next to the kitchen door so that if he does start whinging Coco tells him to "SHUT UP" at which point he settles down again!!!

Busy day here, just stopped for a cuppa so quick whizz round the board.

Pleased to say that I have come in on budget this week (or rather under budget) so I might .....just might......... be able to go to the pictures this evening. And I always say that I eat so much more healthily when I have little to spend as I cook everything from scratch.

  • I saw Moos blog today! He is gorgeous. So is your flat - my sister would thoroughly approve!

DH is now on slimming World after realising a male friend had been on it and lost over 2 stone yet was not starving. They gave us a spare set of books and we are cooking everything from scratch, so an initial expense but will be better in the long run. DH doesnt like pasta or rice but he loves the homemade chips done in the oven with spray oil.

Believe me the Parrot (Coco) tells us all what to do and we oblige (or rather obey). He is adorable though. He is currently answering my works phone in my voice (well whenever it rings he answers by making the clicking noise, announcing - in welsh - the department and my name!) If only I could train him to actually pick it up.

I love Moo's bedtime routine, and the parrot joining in too :)

Just hope he doesn't get any more fears and phobias in the future, it's quite complicated as it stands now.
