  • Consulting back to your current employer, dog sitting, temp work........ I am sure there is work out there that you could patchwork together :).

How funny that hair is the subject I have just caught up on. My last hairdresser cut my fringe on an angle and too short and kept insisting I couldnt have it too long, I cancelled the next appointment and haven't been near a hairdresser since!

I decided yesterday to ring my mums hairdresser who I saw for a few years when I worked that way as I trust her (she did my hair when I lived at home, and for my wedding) to sort the cut and colour. So the hunt was on for the telephone number as she works from home, can I find it, not even on line! How dare my mum be abroad for 2 weeks when I need that number :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

Like you I am trying to restrict time on here as I have budget proposals to write, but this is far more interesting :D.

Thanks Lovelies. Me, I have always loved having my hair done but I am very particular about hairdressers. I find it most inconsiderate when they decide to leave or have a baby, or go traveling.

Setting off for work this morning was hard, after all 6.30 starts are not my most favourite. Driving along feeling grumpy and trying to cheer up listening to Chris Evans was, to say the least, a chore. And then I turned a corner and the skyline expanded, the sea came into view and my whole spirits lifted. Driving along I was mesmerised by the lilac and pink tinged clouds and the sun bouncing off the sea. I was sorry to turn off the coast road and head inland, crossing Wales to the other coast but then, breathless I had to stop the car as I trundled down through the valley heading towards Carmarthen when I realised that I was gazing at the view instead of the road. Stopping by the side of the road I routed through my bag and was distraught to find I had left it at home. Instead, I stood next to a gate and chatted to 5601 the cow about the view. Clouds hovering just above the fields and the sky jewel like against the jade green rolling hills. No wonder they call Carmarthenshire the Garden of Wales.

Today I loved my job. Paid to look at beautiful views.

Just catching up. How about dog walking to help towards the £90/day? Around here they charge £10/hour. Or Doggy Day Care at £16/day.

  • That sounds just beautiful.

We had to go to derbyshire a few weeks ago and when we got to the address it was just inside the Peak District. We had taken sandwiches for lunch so we stopped in a layby, sat on the back of the truck in the sunshine and enjoyed the view :)

  • I'm sure that you'll find a way to make it work for you.

I was thinking of you when watching the Proms on Saturday, although one of the items in the first half was definitely not to my taste I enjoy *conducting* if I know the music.

Referring to "home" - is an odd one.
For many years, even though I had my own place, only a few miles away from Mum and Dad, "home" was their house. My cousin has lived in Canada for over 30 years but to her "home" is Merseyside.

Thank Pippi, I meant to say I was routing in my bag for a camera :)
Maty - definitely on my list. I paid my dog walker £20 for an hour would you believe? she didnt stay too long. After all, I worked out it was a bit of a cheek when she was actually walking her dog anyway! Mug I am not.

Me - we should always take time out to just sit and look at the view. I do it lots and it usually means I turn up a few minutes late for the meeting I am scheduled at. I just say I had to stop to let the cows cross or the road was full of sheep. Great excuse that is often true and always believable here.

In money news. I have just opened the renewal letter for Moos insurance and they have upped it from £40 per month to £75 per month, Erm I dont think so............
Car insurance due at the end of the month for Mr C so I will be investigating that too this weekend.

Still scheming in my head about making money. A colleague yesterday (who I trust a lot) suggested that I look at consulting doing what I am doing now. I do work with some consultants who charge an absolute fortune for what I do (we do it free of charge for small organisations and charities) but I said that if I was going to do what I do now I would prefer to stay where I am. Still it is something to think about.

I feel so much better in myself, I think it has even affected my posture.

I couldn't agree with you more over this - yesterday I had a real attack of the "meh" and for the first time in about a year, I didn't *do* my hair or put my makeup on.

As a result, I became that dowdy person again, my posture was terrible, my shoulders were hunched, and the knock on effect was very noticable.

Today, the straighteners were put to work, and as I stood at the bus stop, I actually almost said out loud that I was standing up straighter with my head held high.

Amazing what a difference it can make!

MrsMoo, could you stay where you are *and* do some private consulting?

Love the post about the sky and chatting to the cow :):):)

And as for home .... I have several homes. Liverpool in general. My mum's house, even tho I never lived there. My own house. John Lewis on Oxford Street. Camden Market.
