i cant wait to get into tesco's again and try out my first R&R lol
  • Think I missed out on a Tesco mobile Motorola V3 Razor today, went here and saw it for £79.xx on SEL, but no-one would price check it at tills for me. amd they did not have any price check scanners (and misses did not want to buy it to check price  ). So walked away

Later on went to another store on my way home and saw it again SEL £99.xx
Could kick myself may have got myself a free phone.
BTW the £79.xx was on a white standard SEL.

Possible R&R?? I will never know!!

If your local may be worth a look my friends............. I was in Harlow mid afternoon today

No, it is a check digit. There is a complicated bit of math mixed up in a barcode.

The version number you refer to is at the end of the string of numbers on the bottom of the SEL.

Yeh...Sorry for the misinterpretation, I must have misread the OP, as this is the exact number I was talking about...................I dont know why I even mentioned barcode.....I was going to post an example of this last digit, being the version number,on an item with 2 different sels, but no need to now.

I thought i had this yesterday SEL said 80.97 scanner was broken so went to checkout and it scanned at 79.97 so obviously it is 99.97 with the £20 off at 79.97 i suddenly lost my wallet and walked away

please dont shout, but surely it would make more sense not to have someone 'update' the misprices in a great big list every day then, cos you're only making it easier for the staff at tesco to check everything

When the first of these lists came about, I posted that we were making it easy for all Tesco employees to simply print it off and run in to work with "look what Ive got"......Although I got some support, the OP got a lot more "thanks" than i did.(although his thanks were mainly from Newbies)

I think its far harder for the normal tesco assistant to get details like this if it isnt already in easily printable mode.

I think it is contributing to quicker corrections by Tesco staff.(Ive just read about staff running around with a list)

(and before anyone comes back with.....but any half brained idiot could colate a list...........it takes time....maybe time a lot of opportunist T employees dont have.)

Must admit, Ive used it.......but dont depend on it.......Its much more fun finding your own.........and much easier to find old ones if Mr T hasnt got the same info that I have.

  • don't know if this qualifies as a misprice but today I bought 2 items from finest range that had "buy 2 save £1" stickers on. The items were reduced so an extra £1 off made them even better value but surprise surprise the £1 didn't come off at the till. Went to cust servs but got no joy at all. CSA said that because they were reduced the other offer is superceded. I was in a rush so no time to argue but would appreciate advice on this.

technically i suppose the offer should still come off, unless theres a sign by the reduced chiller that specifies that multibuys dont work on reduced items.

A couple of years ago I used to look out for reduced fresh food items that were bogof or buy 2 for xx, my local always reduced these items down to about 10% of their original price to get rid of them, and the offer discount would always still come off so most of the time the discount that came off was actually more than was charged for the reduced item so i got money off the rest of my shopping !

Sorry that doesnt really answer your post!
