Tesco misprice discussion area part 13

Sorry, just popping in and out whilst having a family bonfire party.
After the R&R events of my day - see my previous post, I was too much of a nervous wreck to even LOOK for any of the possibilities I had carefully and time-consumingly MEMORISED !
I could have done with some free Champers to calm my nerves !!
The events happened in a HUGE Tesco, miles from home, and I had high hopes of making great inroads into my Christmas list.
As it was, I was SO stressed out that I didn't bother to do more than have a cursory look.
Worse still I felt SO sorry for the staff on cs desk, and all the other customers in the queue . Instead of being made aware of Tesco policy in an informative and instructive manner, they were cringing in embarrasment, and pee'd of by the fact that this went on so long, and involved so many cs staff, that they were waiting ages just to be dealt with.
What could have been an education for the wider public in what happens when you are overcharged, was so embarrasing to witness that everyone was looking the other way and trying to blend in with the background.
As I say, within seconds I thought I was in the presence of another MSE, and was even thinking of giving a sly wink or rolling my trouser leg up in some secret club type introduction. But I was wearing a skirt, and thought exposing my left breast was a bit much in November !
By the time he had demanded an R&R, I thought I had better put as much distance between us as possible. !
Drats, now I will have to find another large store to reccy
How many Tesco shopping days are there left to Christmas ?0 -

But isn't there a risk that person on the selfscan tills will call the duty manager to sign the receipt, who in turn would just offer to give me a refund of the difference there and then to save me coming back?
job done then, get him to r+r you.0 -

It was full price in Plymouth Roborough today..
Incidentally both the stores at Roborough and Lee Mill have scanners that have been disabled..
I tried to loose my R & R virginity, 3 hours walking around with no luck. even all meat was rightly priced..
Reading these threads have done something tho = made me reciept aware
BTW - am all embarrassed now. .. need to get the quote thing right next time
Nah, don't be embarrased...
...at least you have gone out and tried to walk the R&R walk.
Respect Gina.
Keep trying and you will break your R&R cherry.

p1an0player wrote:Also, are selfscan tills alright for R&Rs? or could it be argued that I could more easily have noticed a misprice on the selfscan screen and should have raised it there and then before completing the transaction?
Selfscan - tricky - as a shopper you tend to watch the screen as you scan, scan, scan.
Legal arguments aside, The Dude never self-scans when on a R&R mission.
However The Dude always distracts the Checkout Person with boring chit-chat when he/she is scanning his mis-priced goods.....

AAaarrgh
I just remembered. One of the main things I was going to this big Tesco was to check out all the reductions on the perfumes/aftershaves, and I was so frazzled by my meeting with other R&Rers I completely forgot until now
Drat, Drat and Double Drat
Can we all bag our own Tesco and put a five mile exclusion zone round it so no one else queers our patch ?
I think I need a stiff drink and I have nothing R&R'd from Tescos in the house!
Oh well, It will have to be the cooking sherry for the Old Bag.0 -
