I've been trying to understand what the free TV thing was all about. I've read all of thread 13 and part of thread 12 but I still don't get it.. But there are plenty of references to it.
Please can someone give me a résumé of what happened?!0 -
R&Rs after midnight
I went in a store after midnight, didn't try any R&Rs but there were no manned tills and no-one permanently at CS - only one lady manning mainly the self-scan tills and also CS. There was a security bloke, and other staff shelf-stacking, and no other customers.
Had I been overcharged, would I have got R&R, especially if the same lady chatting to me at the selfscan tills had been the person at CS?!0 -

go back in the morning (as I freequently do) r&r's no problems, get someone to sign your receipt to verify an incorrect SEL and return in the morning (or at your leisure)0 -

A few mispriced SONY 32" LCD TV's marked at £799 and went through at £849........r&r for a few people.
all corrected now and the price is now actually £799, so perhaps a few shops jumped the gun on this promotion.0 -
Re cranium game..
It was full price in Plymouth Roborough today..
Incidentally both the stores at Roborough and Lee Mill have scanners that have been disabled..
I tried to loose my R & R virginity, 3 hours walking around with no luck. even all meat was rightly priced..
Reading these threads have done something tho = made me reciept aware
BTW - am all embarrassed now. .. need to get the quote thing right next time0 -

Does that i mean i still could have got R+R on phones as they were all marked up full price e.g. nokia 6070 59.99, there were no big posters up though of the 10% off. Also tekken was marked up at 32.97 and there was no GOTW offer poster.
its as if some N 0 B of a worker runs like a dog and changes everything the same day. Grrrr
can someone help me on this seems like no one had replied to itthanks
If people cant help people on these threads, then they should rather not say anything then say something which isnt any use to the person who needs help0 -

You could go for it, but you have to be prepared for a failure. Some stores accept the leaflets as effectively being part of the shelf pricing and will therefore accept you've been overcharged. Other stores say that if the price on the SEL is correct and the leaflet is out of date, then you have not been overcharged. There was a whole load of people who got R&Rs this way a couple of months ago, but also loads of people like me who got refused.

Interesting idea - possibly safer as well because there is no risk that the CS person will take off the SEL when they are checking the price, ie denying it was there.
You mean then that I don't admit I'm going to get a R&R - I just finish paying for my shopping, notice the error, say I'm in a hurry, and, in order to get the signature, suggest that I'll ask for the difference refunded tomorrow at CS.
But isn't there a risk that person on the selfscan tills will call the duty manager to sign the receipt, who in turn would just offer to give me a refund of the difference there and then to save me coming back?
Also, are selfscan tills alright for R&Rs? or could it be argued that I could more easily have noticed a misprice on the selfscan screen and should have raised it there and then before completing the transaction?0
