  • The 360 games are still out there, had a bit of a nerve wracking time earlier today.
I found a store that had the Splinter Cell game, the SEL said £39.xx but a clear box on the shelf had a SEL inside it saying £37.xx I took the box to a till but the girl said that the games had to be taken to the CS desk to be paid for.
What the hell thought I, I'm here now, I'll give it a go. I handed the box to the woman on the CS desk who went off to get the game, she came back a few mins later with the game and the original box (with the lower price), she scanned the game which scanned @ £39.xx, I was praying she didn't spot the lower price on the box that was on the CS desk right in front of us. Luckily she didn't and I paid the higher price. As she handed the game over I asked what the price I'd paid was as the box had said £37.xx. She checked and called a manager over and I got the R&R without any hassle at all.
As I left I thanked the CS lady and told her she'd made my day. :D

It certainly is the case, moreover, if you've had the "letter", which asks you to introduce yourself to management before entering the store., its impossible to deal with HO, if they want to contact you later.....

Believe me.....it makes it a lot more difficult.....not impossible by any means, but it saps your confidence a bit, when getting into an argument with a manager.

I havent given the correct address for an RNR although i have given them my mobile number which i realised was linked to my clubcard - i amended my details recently and removed this - maybe have to think about getting a dual sim thing for my phone and use a tesco sim for calls to/from head office..

I'm sure if they ever actually needed my address i could maybe get away with making excuses and have them send any correspondence via my workplace.

No doubt i'll learn the hard way.

I was in my local tesco trying to get my first R&R and was after a xbox360 game, after taking 3 games to the scanner and returning, within 30 seconds a tesco emplyee had arrived and was watching me whilst picking up random 360 games.
I thought I would play along with it and picked a game up and then we made eyecontact then i put it down and walked off down the ilse and then she went!!
Must have CCTV on the scanners!

Big brother IS watching !!! Try not to be so obvious, and too keen! Read the misprice site and you WILL loose that Cherry, I can't believe Tesco still make so many mistakes.
  • Not being funny here postman, because I love R&R-ing as much as you, but it is a well founded belief that the few spoil it for the many (not just R&R, but in life too).

Mr T's may one day get more clued up and drop their policy ( I already suspect that they are going part way with scanners being removed in Leicester and Coventry) and that will be a sad day. But is it worth going hell for leather to the detriment of everyone else out there, whilst you suck the well dry? The whole point of this forum is to share thoughts and misprices. I'm sure people like the Duder could keep his misprices to himself and not share and go and rip Mr T's off all over the shop, but he doesn't. He's prepared to share and play the game fairly. How long before you get banned? Or more importantly how long before Tesco's get cynical about the whole situation as they get the same faces popping in day after day and just scrap it. I don't want R&R's to stop, but there is such a thing as overkill.

I'm no killjoy - I'm probably the youngest R&R-er out there - but my view is that we're all here to enjoy the ride whilst it lasts, not to kill it by bragging about how we're ripping Tesco's off. Duder advocates playing the low profile card - and I think it's the best way to go. You're flying in the face of that for my money and I think you should perhaps think why he's suggesting this.

My thoughts man - you decide how you want to go about it, but I'd like to keep my patch sweet and not have grief when I try the odd R&R as they percieve that people are coming in and R&R-ing them all the time.
  • Thanks to the people who responded about my fishy problem yesterday all sorted collecting refund very soon.

Yeh...I learnt the hard way....although I havent bothered trying to get any of my bans lifted, as again, it just draws more attention to yourself.

The (ask permission) all stores letter isn't worth the paper its written on....unless you're silly enough to use a club or credit card, or get into a position where you have to contact head office.

Although having said that...my wife still uses the same club and credit card. I just carry a "wad" with me.

I've had good RandRs, "Golden" Randrs, and high value exchanges from all over the country since my letter...but as I said earlier, it often prevents you going those last steps, and contacting HO.

Haven't had an RandR for over a week...(2 phones)....I've actually stopped being a serial RandRer......musn't be hungry enough at the moment.

Visited one of my "banned" stores yesterday for the first time in 2 months....I just hope they've forgotton me.....although I can still remember the duty manager's face.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

  • Fair enough Postman. I'm not going to perpetuate the discussion as I like the thread and want to keep it open. You may be the new !!!! on the block and so forth, but my area is covered by more than 1 or 2 peeps, who actually give rather than just take take take. If the SEL's have gone it won't be you mate...

Anyway as I said - you do it how you want - just when they stop doing R&R, you'll have to get yourself a proper job.
