thanks
Haven't scanned it either but I've seen quite a few SELs in various stores showing £148.00 so I doubt it would scan at the higher amount.
There is also another version of the TV for about thirty pounds more which I think has a DVD player built in.0 -
MyUserNamesTaken wrote:Hold on. You told CS that you knew of three other people who had already bagged the game for free? That's where you went wrong. I'm not surprised they said what they said to you, I'm afraid. After all, you basically admitted that you knew the game was mispriced before buying it. As far as contract law is concerned, if they can prove you knew the correct price before buying the game, you were not overcharged. Obviously, they were still breaking the Consumer Protection Act.
I may have written that wrong, the c/s lady told me that 3 people had already got R&r on this. think she was annoyed no one had sorted it out yet!!
sorry for any confusion0 -
I bought an X box game and was offered the £2 difference, I pointed to the sign and I was given a refund. I was told that I could not have the receipt and if the game was faulty then I could not return it. I had no other items on the receipt
I accepted the r&r with a smile but was the CS lady correct?
Cheers.:hello:0 -

Ahh...that makes all the difference. If it was the old witch everyone on here has talked about in the past, all you need to do is put in a complaint to HO about her. Apparently, she's already been disciplined before following complaints from customers about her level of CS.

No, the CSA was not correct. The sign clearly states that your statutory rights are not affected by the price promise. This means that you are fully entitled to return faulty goods. The CSA should not have kept your receipt, either. The receipt is yours and is your best proof of purchase. The CSA has basically stolen it from you. I would complain to the store about this, as it is serious. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

In addition, I have now seen SELs at £3.98 and £4.98 for the same item. The SEL at £4.98 said "remove by 08/10/2006".
Haven't had chance to scan it yet. I suspect that it will scan at £3.98 but who knows?0 -
