Dude, which garage would you like to go to first?:D

I have to question whether sponger2 is serious or just some troll trying to stir things up.....Lets put things into perspective here.

I've bought an x-box from my employer. I wanted the x-box anyway and was perfectly willing to pay full price for it - so i did.

I then see pound signs as i log on to here and see that someone has spotted a possible way of getting a refund on my earlier purchase. So I go to the CS desk at this other store and cause a bit of a fuss, and come away with nothing. I then tell my colleagues and managers about this and they all tell me what I want to hear. So i go back and cause more fuss and still no refund!

    Here are my options now:

    1) Keep my xbox as per plan, put it down to experience and move on thus keeping my job
    2) Risk my job, shares, discount etc for the sake of an at best disputable misprice

To be honest both myself and constantine have the knowledge and ability to obtain garageloads of gear, lets face it, I am not known in many other stores and there are so many now it would be simple. However both of us can see the bigger picture and know that in doing so we would be the ones to suffer long term.

yeah i see your point sounds like you like to l**k your bosses balls and ask for seconds  !. dont mean to be rude but i bought my xbox without knowing anything about being duped by tesco i literally bought that pack over the pgr3 pack as the saving was more therefore i was duped but worst of all by the same company i work hard for. i really couldnt give a !!!!!! about my non existent shares and the fact ive only got a 15hr contract there so my 5 days holiday a year can get stuffed youve obvisouly been trained to be the tesco monkey you are i HAVE NOT.
bottom line i bought the xbox as a customer not a member of staff tbh its not really about the xbox anymore the fact that there saying staff arnt entitled to the price policy personally i didnt see that in my contract "work here and all your rights go out the window" also i asked the manager of the store if i buy a £5.97 cd and you charge me £105.97 ive lost my money cos im staff his reply "YES" surely you dont stand up for this or are you trying to get onto options my little boss training friend :A

    Out of order Sponger.

Spa2k's been a valued member of this community for some time - he deserves a little bit of respect.

If what you say is true then that's fair enough - but it does look like you were hunting for an R&R - given that you purchased the XBOX and then appeared on this thread - and just at the right time (given the amount of posts that appear here) - in the middle of the XBOX debate.

    Quite a big coincidence Dude....

Anyhow if you read this thread you will know my views on this 'mis-price'.

If you want to can the insults then you are welcome to contribute to this community - if not, then take it elsewhere Dude,

  • Sponger, Constantine is a manager and Spa is high up in his store's PID. That might explain a few things for you.

Incidentally, I read a post (on another forum) by a Tesco employee who had purchased a couple of tins of QS when they were scanning with a double discount (£1.52 per tin). That employee was suspended from work pending an enquiry. Her manager accused of her using her work knowledge to take advantage of the pricing issue. Not sure what happened to her, as she never posted again after her initial post. She was not happy, though. Some stores say that staff cannot use the price promise, others say they can. As far as I know, there's nothing from HO saying that staff aren't covered by the price promise. However, it can look very, very suspicious when/if staff avail themselves of the policy considering they are in a situation where they can manufacture the misprices themselves, or pass on knowledge to family members.

    To sponger2.

I don't think that being a member of staff should exclude you from benefitting from the R&R policy.

As has already been stated though, that the particular Xbox misprice was dubious anyway, add to that your 10% discount and you were on shaky ground.

Better to focus on more clear cut misprices (eg a nice Xbox game), go in without your uniform and don't use your staff discount card or clubcard.

Yes, in theory the staff discount shouldn't make any difference, but it's harder to argue you've been overcharged when actually you paid less than the SEL..
  • fair enough that was out of order sorry about that  but i honestly bought it fairly and found out 6 days later on this site took me nearly a months wages to make the purchase just a little p/o'd people saying i bought it for the r&r. i dont actually like football wouldve preferred the racing game but i thought the savings were a lot more ive never had a refund from tesco in my life and ive been working for them for 2 years and never once used my privilege card ( i shop at morrisons dont like spending anymore time in tesco's than i have too) the fact ive been told that im not entitled to a refund cos im an employee frankly stinks and would expect tesco's staff to back that up as its in all our interests as i can definetly tell you after speaking to the union this is very untrue.

I'm sure I can hear our resident manager cringing in the back ground.

I'm sure its been mentioned but how do i go about attempting to obtain copies of cctv footage and also that of phone calls between myself and head office and also of the store and head office relating to an overcharge where i have been accused of manufacturing an SEL for Splinter Cell on the 360 and then putting it on the shelf of not one but 2 seperate stores...

Also do i inform head office that i have audio recordings made on my mobile of these accusations or keep that under my hat for now?

    You have pm
