Not all Tescos will accept those and you don't want them paying too much attention to the pen coupon ! I've mange 4 successes- 1st cashier said'oh this has gone thru at £4.50 - I'll go into Asda after work and get some mags myself!' "nd onesaid'oh thats good, you've got £4.50 off - and wrote £4.50 on the coupon', 3rd one didn't even notice, 4th on said 'thats a good deal'. I've only had one spotted, checked with CS and over-ridden.
You need to buy enough stuff to 'hide' the £4.50 reduction - other legit coupons might help especially now the club card coupons are about.
Used a pen coupon and 2 of the "asda" ones from the back page (but not the Asda brand xmas cake) last night to pay for a whole shop through a self scan till at Tesco. No problems.0 -
Not an R&R opportunity but an anomaly - usually the Express stores add on a few pence to things.
Thorntons Classic Collection 335g:
- in Tesco Express at £4.14
- in Tesco Extra at £4.990 -
BLUE SEL are used to indicate an emergency product withdrawl. NOthing less nothing more.
If they are getting alot of price problems with an item or there is a quality problem then an epw will be issued0 -

I don't understand, if something is being withdrawn from sale, why does a special blue SEL need to be printed for a product which has been taken off the shelves?0 -
As to alert staff that this item is off slae but maybe out the back on hold!Saves it getting scanned as out of stock etc0

* Trade in at GAME. They give £25 trade for Splinter Cell, or have a special trade in of £30 against the new game Call of Duty 3. Lego Star Wars II was only worth £21 as a trade in. Still, I have loads of credit there now, and will be able to get all the latest 360 games I want over Xmas for free. (and 360 accesories, DS games, and DS accesories, you get the idea) GAME cash values are rubbish. BTW, dont forget GAME have now stopped there 10 day returns policy - so you will be stuck with a game once the seal is opened.
* Really cheeky one, this. Take one of each of the (sealed) games to your local friendly Sainsburys. I have politely asked Sainsburys if I could swap them for other titles, as my wife had bought them for me, got something I know I dont like, but now lost the receipt. Amazing how friendly and helpful Sainsburys staff are. (maybe cos they dont have R + Rs to fight all day long) Got two new titles that I wanted that way.
Either way - thanks again Mr Ts ! your incompetence and arrogance is a real treat. :T
Another option ...WHSmith without question exchanged without receipt0 -
Bought 2 Umbrellas today (the ones with Christmas 3 for 2 things). They are in a box which says £4.97, SEL is £4.98. They scan at £4.98.
Anyhow, bought 2, went to CS and told them I had bee overchared, CS Woman went to have a look at the shelf (I waited at CS) and waited and waited  Eventually she came back and said she couldn't see any box, only the SEL of £4.98. I told her I would go with her and show her. We got to the shelf where the Umbrellas were before, but guess what? the boxes had been removed and Umbrellas were scattered all around the shelf. It was pretty obvious that she or another Tesco Staff member had deliberately removed all the boxes. I told her this too. Anyhow, I said I wanted a full refund (and gave umbrellas back, told them I would do Xmas Shopping elsewhere)
So...the omral of the story is to always accompany CS to the Shelf
I won't get mad, I'll get even
This was a CHESTERFIELD Tesco if any one wants to know.Busy working Mum of 3
