k66 wrote:Hi there, is there any special procedure for returning an item which I have had an r&r on? Has anyone any experience and advice? I have the marked reciept and the box is unopened.
Thanks in advance.
U can't
Sell it on eBay, thats what I do0 -
went again no look - everything mentioned on here was correct or sel removed
found a book got exited and it turned out to be cheaper than the sel and the sticker!I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something0 -

Not going to be able to get out til tomorrow, will try my best, our "beer tower" is getting to be more like "beer ruins" here. Only got about 20 cans of fosters and 8 cans of Becks vier
Still, have got 4 bottles of champers and 5 bottles of the McMannis red to get us through the hard times!Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
Plushchris wrote:I got a cheque sent out to me, good job I gave the right name (gave them my mums address so I still got the cheque)
If you use a credit/debit card you should NEVER give the wrong name, doesnt matter about the address but if you have a CS person thats on the ball and spots the wrong name you will be suspected of credit card fraud (rightly so IMO)
I think you have a very good point here Plushchris, and one that should be considered. By giving a false name you bring into question your intentions when visiting the store, and your methods of payment. By giving a false address you are merely expressing your right to anonymity, from unsolicited mail.
As other have posted before, one option is to find a local trading standards address and give that if appropriate, but this is not the best option. If requested for an address for them to post to see if you can get your own PO Box, this will allow you to receive necessary mail without revealing your abode. Or, my preferred option, is request that it be forwarded to the store in question, where you can arrange to collect it from the appropriate manager who refused it in the first place.;)As my sig, seems to be offending some. I have removed it, god bless you mr T.0 -

Hey_Dude wrote:I'm not trying to say that you're wrong - simply that this is a dodgy mis-price at best from a 'reasonable' perspective.
<snip>
Forget any legal or moral stand-points - I still maintain that the average Dude would not perceive this as a valid mis-price - any non-R&R shopper would simply look at the SEL, see that this matches the receipt - and walk away fairly content.
His Dudeness
I think pursuing this mis-promotion, rather than misprice, marks you out as almost certainly being a MSEr rather than an ordinary member of the public (as the Dudey one says, most "ordinary" people wouldn't pursue it). It will definitely put you on the radar.
Not one I would try myself, and not one to try at your local store, methinks.0 -
wlfc1 wrote:Personally I don't think it is acceptable to behave like The Postman and his mates did, something is not right when people stop behaving like civilised human beings. Just beacuse some Tesco staff behave appallingly, it doesn't give anyone an excuse to behave as described tonight.
Personally I think "Postmans" r&r live will be short lived
Fight Tesco by all means, fight them hard, fight them all the way for your rights, but please don't stoop to bullying behaviour.
sermon over
no bullying? i purchased products and was illegally overcharged! They are breaking the law, not me. And they also attempted to ignore the "tesco policy"
? I dont see a problem, some people would have crumbled and took a refund, i didnt ? i dont see a problem:idea: £2051.50 since Oct 25 2006Make mine a Golden £143.46

N20Y1D wrote:Why are you returning it? I doubt they'd give you a refund as technically they already have?
I think there are people here that have done it, even with a marked receipt, not sure of how they approach it though.
This has been said already but technically they arent losing out if you are returning the item as they will then have it back to sell on, their loss was made on the R&R, the two are completely different.
I dont think I would have the bottle to try it myself, I'll do it on a golden R&R though!Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
biglugs wrote:I'd just like to say to the R&R Brothers - go for it guys. I love a bit of pandemonium in store - cheaper than pantomime and just as much fun.
I particularly like the idea that the store refuses to abide by their policy then bans you when you complain. If it were me I'D make that much fuss too - just before reporting them to TS for breaches of the law.
I don't know why anyone feels the R&R brothers are doing something wrong - it is Tesco that is abusing US, not us abusing them!!
AMEN brother! :T:idea: £2051.50 since Oct 25 2006Make mine a Golden £143.46
