i'd like my own pair of winter boots! but i'll have to wait until hell freezes over and i can get them to do up around my ankles and calves.
  • Hi All!

Well, not a lot to report from me I am afraid - kinda reached another phase of being totally and utterly fed up of havng no money! I know I am lucky that I am repaying OH and not a bank etc, but it is still a debt. The balance is coming down nicely though, so I 'spose I should take comfort in that!! Oh, and no interest is obviously a bonus too!

It is time to look at the dreaded CC bill again - I'm sure it comes round too quick! Then it will be thinking caps on for Christmas - as lean as poss is the key this year! I am wondering if I know how to crochet??

Right, am off to do some work and decide if I have enough energy to do some overtime!!!

Hope you are all well? Nats x

i'm so with you on the being fed up with having no money. I'm still an emotional spender and some dissappointing news last week nearly sent me to the shops to just spend spend spend. Luckily i stopped myself but it was only the thought of having no money and wanting to do better things with the little that i do have that stopped me.

if you really want to learn how to crochet then have a look online there's some pretty good tutorials out there, actually inspiration has just struck that you can make some really pretty crocheted flower broaches (sp???) which could possibly make some lovely chrissy pressies.
  • Oooh, crochet broaches (still sp!!) I like that idea - I was thinking about scarves (in at the deep end and all!) - there was one I saw online that had wavey edges and then pompoms on it!

Something like this (bottom left corner!)

    Hi guys!

Well, not a lot to report really! It has been a few days of mixed fortunes.... picked up a parking ticket on Saturday, so that was £25 that I've paid out of the house-hold account. But, looking at the house-hold account EDF hadn't taken their DD for last month (£47), and speaking to them last night they weren't going too, they won't be adding it to my future payments and there was money allocated against my account last month, but this was money that was previously unallocated. ??? Your guess is as good as mine! But my EDF account online shows more in credit than it did last month and my spreadsheet matches perfectly until the middle of September, so I am not going to worry too much!

Nothing else really to report. Apparently I don't know how to knit or crochet, but according to mum there is a nice man in a wool shop in the nearby town who will help me!!! Will pop in there on Sat after work I think!

The house looks like a bomb has hit it again (mainly because the male members of the establishment cannot put things back where they came from) so tonight the plan is to continue the blitz that I started last night. Off to circuits tomorrow night... we have a stand-in instructor.... had him once before and he almost killed the entire class; so that could be interesting! lol

Right, have some work to do! Laters x x x

Hi Peeps!! (I saw your little comment there OBNW - nice to know you are still around!)

Well it's Friday again!! And payday! That whole excitement of it being payday has kinda worn off a bit - Just looking forward to the day when payday means a day when the money paid to me is all mine (less the usual bills of course!) Still, that's still a fair way off! So, in true British style, shoulders back, head up and plough on!

This is week 40 of the year! So, in agreement with my 'key dates' that I logged earlier in the year, I have now repaid OH, wait for it........ drum roll please.....£4,000.00!! TA-DA!! It does mean however, that there are only 12 weeks of the year left! GULP!

This weekend I need to sort out my car insurance - due for renewal on the 11th! Need to really look carefully at the level of cover that I am getting for my money - I have uninsured driver loss at the moment and as my car is only 6 months old that is something I would quite like to keep. But if that's what is making up the difference between my renewal quote and the cheapest ones I have found online then there needs to be some form of negotiation!! Always fun, but it could mean the difference of about £80 over the year! Worth looking at if you ask me!

I think an organising weekend is in order - I just need some time off from having to be here, there and everywhere to do bits and pieces which will make me feel more in control! And then we are away next weekend, so that will be a nice cheap break - but must change some clubcard vouchers up tonight to use at Cafe Rouge!

Right - must go and do things!

If I don't catch up with any of you before - have a great weekend.... go and embrace this lovely autumn weather! x
