Sorry Dinah to hear about your grandma.
Taka, good weigh in again.
My weigh in will be tomorrow, but i don't feel like i have lost anything, and to be honest not a lot has changed. I really need to join a plan i think. Might look out the WW books tonight and try from that. Even just writing down would be better than i am doing as i keep sneaking in nuts and chocolate. Less booze though so that might be good.0 -

Well done on your decluttering Dansmum. Mr GG & I decluttered a late Xmas pressie of a box of choccies yesterday, fortunately a friend popped in and assisted with a few. I'm hoping the numbskulls who calorie count couldn't keep up as we did eat them very quickly

Well done everyone I have some good news to report finally
Name / starting weight / weight loss to date / total to loose / lost this week / weigh in day
Tallgirl / 88 kilo / 3.6 kilo / 10 kilo / 3.6 kilo / Sunday
Hope I have done that correctly.
I have never been on a proper diet and still I am not really but I have found having the app MyFittnessPal on my Ipod allows me to quickly record my food and drink intake + exercise and it does make you think before you reach for those cakes etc. Really made me think the calories of each thing I eat something I have never done before.
Keep up the good work - I am lucky we did not have Christmas here so no chocolate to have to declutter.Save £12k in 25 No 49

2lbs off for me this week.
Not been able to get to the gym at all but have been doing some free weights at home.
Also spent the best part of an hour and a half clearing snow which fell saturday night on our drive/path/road/neighbours drive, little bit of cardio!5/10/12 : Mortgage Free0 -

I am actually getting very annoyed with myself. I know i was really naughty on Monday after getting the cat put to sleep, but i have zero will power. Doing nothing different will mean nothing changes. So, as of today, smaller portions, no snacking on utter junk. If i am truly hungry i can have some fruit. I need to change the way my head is approaching it. I am also going to be doing a food diary as the biscuit cos the kids are having one, and the mint choc sneaked when DH is putting the kids to bed is no good.
DH said to me this morning but you have cut down this week, and to him at least it must appear i am but i know i have been a pig and need to consider the fuel i am putting in.
1st few hours have gone well today, if i can manage one day at a time and not beat myself up i might manage it.0 -

Many people fall into the trap of thinking you need to eat significantly less to lose weight. All that will do is slow down your metabolism, you will feel hungry and when you next eat again your body will actually store more......vicious cycle.
You need to eat smaller amount (nutritious food) but more often, this way you dont go into the blood sugar level lows / highs, your metabolism stays higher and you burn more naturally.5/10/12 : Mortgage Free0 -
I am not going to reduce to nothing, but i know my portion sizes are one of my problems. So this morning, instead of a huge bowl of porridge i had a half bowl, as i thought i would be better having an apple or banana if needed.
My trouble is the kids seem to graze a lot. Then it makes me want them. DS just asked for some nuts and raisin mix, and i could smell it. While it is not bad for me per se, nuts are very calorific and once i have a few i would keep going back and getting more.
My other weakness is the amount of cheese i eat, and the fact i don't like dry food so will add something like mayo to sandwiches to make them more moist.
I think i will have a banana in a minute, then i was thinking of salad and tuna for lunch, and a jacket spud tonight.
I find it so much easier to not think about food and then eat badly than to plan it well and eat properly. I can do it when i try.0
