My brother who lost his left leg has just ordered the C-Max Titanium Automatic (the one with the £355 advance payment on
the motability scheme). He said he has got a discount on some optional extras he ordered.
He has been told it will be built in Spain and should take around ten to twelve weeks to be delivered.0 -
Ordered the 2.0 tdci durashift titanium think some of the prob was that the dealership did order the s max by mistake but that only delayed it by about 4 weeks but even after that it's been a long wait and still no help towards AP after there blunder
Happy with the car? Friend also ordered the same model/trim.Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problemsWell at least i learn something on the way

Hello, long time lurker here at last had something to post!,
I haven't been on the Motability Scheme now for a few years, but as my own car is getting rather long in the tooth, I decided to return to the scheme again. After narrowing down my needs and having a few test drives, I finally decided on the new Ford C-Max Titanium 2.0 Diesel Powershift Automatic. I did think of getting the Grand C-Max with 7 seats but couldn't really justify the extra cost as I don't need 7 seats and my powerchair fits in the 5 seater boot with no problems, so opted for the smaller 5 seat C-Max.
Anyway I ordered the car today. The Ford dealer offered me £200 cashback off the Advanced Payment Price as I was 'a new customer', which made the Advance Payment a very reasonable £155. The salesman did say the discount was only really available to new customers but a few repeat customers had also been given the discount.
I also specced a couple of optional extra things including such as the powered tailgate, 230v converter and the mini steel (spacesaver) tyre and the dealer has thrown in powerfold mirrors, Ford mats and half a tank of diesel - I did try for the full tank of diesel but he said it was either that or the powerfold mirrors!.
Anyway, just to say there are some deals out there if one is prepared to negotiate and play off one Ford dealer against another, especially as in my city there are two competing dealers.
It does show as £355 advanced payment on the sheet I got sent and that is what is on the order form I got from the dealer last week when I ordered the car as well. There are some optional extras, such as the powered tailgate, auto mirrors etc to pay for as well when the car is delivered
first you say they throw in the power fold mirrors then in another post you said you have to pay for them when the car arrives make your mind Up0 -
just checked on the ford website and power fold mirrors are standerd on the c max so the dealer didnt throw them in0

Sorry for the confusion - it says on the invoice 'City Pack - F.O.C.' I read the city pack included the powerfold mirrors so thought they came lumped with that.
I am not really that bothered about them, I more need the auto closing tailgate after the hoist has lifted in the powerchair plus a few other bits.
I did get a bit of good news through, as I need an automatic I am entitled to a grant which had made the cost of the automatic the same as the manual so I only need pay £105 for the advanced payment. The dealer sorted it out with the veterans agency people so it was a bit of good news for once.0 -
Sounds like you got a good deal.
Well done hope you enjoy your car.0 -
How come there are such big differences between advanced payments on the war pension or if you receive high rate mobility? Seems strange.0

How come there are such big differences between advanced payments on the war pension or if you receive high rate mobility? Seems strange.
It is because the War Pension Allowance is over £5.50 per week higher than the DLA High Rate Mobility Allowance. Infact from this coming April it will be roughly £6.00 per week higher.
Thus taking a Motability lease car that is Total Allowance, over the course of a three year lease, a War Pensioner pays £6.00 x 52 (weeks per year) x 3 (years lease) a total of £936 more than a DLA customer. Thus this 'extra' £936 or thereabouts is the difference in the advanced payment.0
