Dealers do not make any profit from motability sale.

They get a handling fee. Not sure how much but it must be worthwhile in them doing so. Also if you are new to the scheme then they often get people trading in their old cars which they owned and of course the dealers will make money on them.

Wish I could get that, I had a little bump :( so rightly I dont get the extra £250, after all it is a good condition bonus.

Got a Nissan from West Way nearly two years ago, got nothing from them, no discounted AP, ended up with £9.99 matts from TESCO

I've got a Fiesta on Motability and it came with mats! I paid £350 extra to have the top of the range Titanium, and the new colour Hot Magenta, two years ago. I love it. The only thing it didn't come with was a reversing beeper, but the dealer has told me that next year my new one will have a beeper as standard. So I'm sticking with Ford!

Hello, long time lurker here at last had something to post!,

I haven't been on the Motability Scheme now for a few years, but as my own car is getting rather long in the tooth, I decided to return to the scheme again. After narrowing down my needs and having a few test drives, I finally decided on the new Ford C-Max Titanium 2.0 Diesel Powershift Automatic. I did think of getting the Grand C-Max with 7 seats but couldn't really justify the extra cost as I don't need 7 seats and my powerchair fits in the 5 seater boot with no problems, so opted for the smaller 5 seat C-Max.

Anyway I ordered the car today. The Ford dealer offered me £200 cashback off the Advanced Payment Price as I was 'a new customer', which made the Advance Payment a very reasonable £155. The salesman did say the discount was only really available to new customers but a few repeat customers had also been given the discount.

I also specced a couple of optional extra things including such as the powered tailgate, 230v converter and the mini steel (spacesaver) tyre and the dealer has thrown in powerfold mirrors, Ford mats and half a tank of diesel - I did try for the full tank of diesel but he said it was either that or the powerfold mirrors!.

Anyway, just to say there are some deals out there if one is prepared to negotiate and play off one Ford dealer against another, especially as in my city there are two competing dealers.

How did you get it for £155 as the AP on your model is £1245

Can I ask what ford dealer this was from.

    Cheers

The dealer is Evans Halshaw. To get the discount I should have taken in the printed voucher from the local free paper (I am takiing it in when I next pass) but the sales chap said it was okay to put the order in without it.

The car is £355 advanced payment on the list I got sent only just over a week ago dated from 1st January 2011.

Cheers, good to know as we're looking at the cmax or grand cmax as well but we're being quoted much higher figures.

Just checked the motability site and the New Ford C-MAX 1.6 Titanium 5dr is £595 and the grand one is £1145.

They're not local to me but it might be worth shopping round further afield

EDIT: Just thought is yours the new cmax as they're still selling both models on the scheme

It is the new c-max model . It hasn't been built yet as I have specced some extra optional extras, so they said delivery from the factory in Spain should be around 10 to 12 weeks.

It is the 2.0 deisel C-Max in Titanium spec with the automatic powershift gearbox which I have ordered, not the 1.6.

It does show as £355 advanced payment on the sheet I got sent and that is what is on the order form I got from the dealer last week when I ordered the car as well. There are some optional extras, such as the powered tailgate, auto mirrors etc to pay for as well when the car is delivered.

I am not sure how your advanced prices workout - I just asked Ford mobility to send me the price list showing the models and relevant advance payments from 1st January 2011.

You've done well then :T I'll contact Ford themselves and see if they have different pricing than the dealers.

These are from the motability website
