Hi
The main ingredient in all midgie killers ie, ant powder, nit shampoo, flea collars drops is PERMETHIN get some spray with that ingredient in and liberally spray all carpets, curtains, wallpaper(yes they get in there too) etc, but check as it may not be safe for animals to occupy same room for a while..

thanks for eveyones advice i really do appreciate it.
after we put the FRONTLINE serum on him on saturday, we havent bathed him, we've brushed him but just left him> is brushing him ok, that wouldnt stop the FRONTLINE working would it????
he dosent seem to be itching certainly not like before so this suggests that its killing them or most of them on him, but really i dont get how the FRONTLINE gets into the skin and lasts for months? surely it would wear off?
the spray surely is working? cos my boyf seen a insect /slug thing on the kitchen floor sprayed RIP and it died instantly.
should i hire a steam cleaner???? or would this not defeat the purpose of the RIP spray. to be honest they could do with a clean anyway, honestly would this be any better than a normal hoover? ??
i just went in the house (back from lunch) with my work trousers rolled up to my thighs so i could see them if they jumped on my legs and i didnt see any. of course this dosent mean they're not there.
how long after spraying permethmin RIP spray on the dog bedding, surrounding areas should u let the dog in> is it okay for say, 15 mins if theres a big fan in the room? it doesnt say on can.
someone said earlier that FRONTLINE doesnt kills adult fleas, it sterilizes them but it says on the packet it does?
i would rather not use a bomb thing as i think theyre quite toxic ive heard.
does any1 know if breathing in RIP spray (not directly) but whilst applying to carpets is bad for you, my poor boyf's been spraying it alot and had a cough? it would do him permenent damage dyu think?
pls advise thanks0 -
This is the third same topic thread you have started on here, are you winding people up?0
-
why do you have to make a smarmy comment?
i am not "winding people up" i am entitled to ask for advice about flea products and how to treat my pet.
people will read my post and give advice if they want to. i am not forcing anyone to give advice.
i asked for advice, no-one replied for over an hour so i posted again. simple
i can post as i feel necessary.
i am just asking other people for advice. if you dont have any positive advice to give, please do not post negative feedback.
you do not have to read the thread.0 -

Some people with new member names come on here to wind people up, thats all I was asking
Also there is a warning on this site telling us to be careful asking for advice on here because you have no idea who is giving advice, it may be wrong.0 -
I used the Indorex (sp?) household spray from vetuk.co.uk as well as using frontline every 8 weeks on the pets. The Indorex lasts 12 months. We have 2 cats and 2 dogs and touch wood, we havent had a major infestation, I do find the odd flea that they probably pick up out and about, which I suppose is to be expected.

so do i just wait n see til end of week if they go away.
should i buy powder instead of spray?
should i steam clean the carpets and then re-spray with RIP? to make sure they are going away
ive heard it can take months to get rid of them?
plz advise?0 -
Frontline doesn't work like that. It sterilises the females, hence stopping her from laying eggs again. You need to leave the Frontline on the dog, DO NOT wash him, once is enough.
The Frontline doesn't work within hours, it takes weeks. Now you've washed your dog after applying Frontline, you will need to do it again. Please do not feed the Trolls!0 -
I did the dog and used the RIP spray at the same time. I used it in the bedroom as it was the place i found them but the dog didnt go in there. I sprayed it in the morning, shut the windows and door on it and left it all day. For a day or two after i kept finding live fleas , thats when i rang the vet . I did as she said and kept letting the dog into the bedroom to wander round during the day , because they had the Frontline on , and within a day or two there was no sign of the fleas. If you are really concerned ring your vet like i did and see what they suggest , but tbh all those 'pet shop' flea treatments are a waste of time , they are not strong enough. Oh the smell of the RIP did linger but nothing too bad !0

thanks every1 for replying i really appreciate your help.
just to clarify...
we havent done anything to the dog since using frontline, we bathed him satuday, during day and then put frontline on in the evenign, so we've just left him, but he's still itchin a bit. he's a poodle so we cant see the fleas, hes got such as thick coat.
yesterday we bought flea powder and put that down last night, and sprayed RIP also in the hall, carpets as well, and we hoovered.
yet this morning i walked down the stairs literally 1 minute and there was 2 on me (going to work.... nice)
to me this spray / powder isnt working, yet it cost £15 from the vet, and i thought id do a test when i caught a live one on me, i put it in a jar sprayed RIP to test if it worked and within a minute it was dead, so i cant fathom why it isnt working on the carpets??
i feel like i need RENTOKIL now, as its not shifting them im still seeing them.
but im worried that they'll take advantge and rip me off.
i am seriously at my wits end.....i literally stood in the bathroom for an hour last night as i knew they'd jump on me if i went downstairs. i hate them jumpin on me.
the vet store said to just wait but im terrifed if i wait they will jump multiply more, ive heard it can take 6 months to get rid of them!!??
i bought and sprayed a flea/mosquito repellant which smells of lemongrass/lavender and they r still jumping on me
they are persistent little b****ers.
i will do anything to get rid of them.....???
