Play.com are selling DSI games that are fake. I just received a copy of professor layton and pandoras box which was described as genuine, and I paid £18.99. It was for a gift for my mother. I have received it and there are spelling mistakes on the back, and the printing is crap. I havent even opened the wrapping.

Contacted play.com who said the seller has took the money ( i paid direct to play.com not the seller) and they will have to wait for him to refund it.

I am not happy. Consumer direct have told me not to open it and NOT in any way shape or form return it to the seller, as its obviously not on making £18.50 on pirate games, and they said trading standards will contact me and most likely ask to have it. Not much point me keeping it anyway as mother has a DSI and I dont think pirate games work on them.

So guys, If you buy from play.com use their site only, not "play traders" and be certain not to buy from the seller called "MADGAMES"

Hope I get a refund

You are wrong. Play.com processed the payment on behalf of Playtrade. Play.com are not dispatching the item to you are they? :o

    OP.

I suggested on another posting that a visit to the techie boards would be beneficial, I am afraid there are a lot of spoofs, pitfalls and Nigerian Army Majors in the www. One has to be cautious.

As for my goodwill, please places like this website should be shutdown as it encourages the proliferation of computing devices to the masses without regard for the proletariat.

I dont care, they took my money, not the person whom dispatched it, therefore I am leaving my title as it.

Oh and DCFC, I couldnt give a monkeys what you post, as I know you are just a troll who only posts on here to wind people up and increase your posting count. Infact.... I am just about to search out the IGNORE button, I think it was designed with you in mind.

When you buy something on ebay, paypal takes your money and passes it to the seller
When you buy something on Amazon Marketplace, Amazon takes your money and passes it to the seller
When you buy something on Play Trade, Play takes your money and passes it to the seller.

In all 3 cases, the company taking your money can't control what gets listed, sure you can complain to them, but they are only a 3rd party.
