Virgin Experience Days Hot Air Balloon Flight for 2

d'oh!!
just had a look at my emails again. all of them say 25% OF the original price. so for example....balloon flight for 2 costs £349.00. 25% of that is £87.25. that's still a bargain for a balloon flight for 2. deduct £50 and it's only £1.25 more than the original glitch!
has anybody contacted very.co.uk to confirm whether it is 'of' or 'off'??
omg i didnt notice that, how good are you with your grammar. Now if theve made another big mistake i think whoever wrote the email will be in for itThe art of being happy is to be satisfied with what you have0 -
Maybe they are emailing people in the order of when the orders were placed (IYKWIM)...I placed my order at 13.13 that day so was a bit later than some people.
mine was placed at 11.13am and 11.32am if that helps and got email at 21.21pmn and 21.35pm. i doubt theyll miss anyone out when they know we all discuss hereThe art of being happy is to be satisfied with what you have0 -

is there really a need to complain to watchdog?? misprices happen all the time. it's inevitable and human error can always occur. what has been disappointing though is the lack of contact from very.co.uk.
they're trying to resolve the issue by sending out £50 gift cards, i was quite shocked by this amount! i mean come on, give some credit here to Jill Johnson and Paul Bushell, they're working 'til 10pm on a Friday evening for a misprice that probably wasn't their fault!
I am pleased that the company have finally started to email customers and have offered some compensation (albeit three days after they realised their error and late on the day we were told the goods, which they stated had been dispatched, should be delivered). However, IMHO, just because misprices are common does not mean we should simply accept them, particularly when they adopt the policy of charging for goods before they are dispatched (something I believe should be made illegal for online traders to do).
If, as previous posters have stated, the catalogue company took 35,000 orders for these deals, and one assumes that the average cost for the deals were around £50, then they have had 1.75 MILLION POUNDS of customers' money sitting in their account for several days already.
In his recent blog, Martin debated pros and cons of shopping from the internet versus the high street, posing the question, 'Should we buy everything online?' (or words to that effect). However, he failed to mention the difficulties surrounding companies like Very taking money before dispatching goods and then refusing to supply goods (either because of misprices or stock issues) and making customers wait for refunds. I have posted about this on the thread set up for discussing that particular blog and asked if Martin would take this on as his next 'challenge' on behalf of all consumers who use the internet for shopping. It would be great if anyone else who thinks this is a good idea posts on the thread too as I assume the more posts Martin gets about this the more likely he is to consider it an important issue for him to consider. As a final thought (in case anyone is feeling sorry for the company) I wonder how many times Very (and other companies like them) overcharge customers by mispricing items and, once they've realised their mistake, offer to refund the money overcharged? My guess would be never!“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”

I never took part in this glitch, but rather than making it illegal for money to be taken before goods are dispatched, I would rather it was made legal for the contract to be formed on the taking of the payment.
This would make companies like this tighten things up or it would cost them for their errors.

My money was never taken.
I don't know if it was ever "pending". It probably was, but Egg don't show pending transaction.
I wonder if many of you had the money reserved but it was never actually taken.0 -

In case it helps. I ordered my balloon flight about 15 mins after the grabbit appeared so probably one of the first. They might be working through in the order that they were placed?
I didn't get a credit account and was offered a gift voucher.
I would expect that we will all get the £50 as like others have said they know that we are all talking.0
