Payment has gone through and not ringfenced:

I don't think they can reverse this without processing a refund.

This is from my online banking:

    Date Transaction Withdrawals
    06/01/2011 VERY.CO.UK £84.95
    06/01/2011 VERY.CO.UK £39.95
  • My order has now disappeared, was 1st class post earlier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've taken a screenshot of mine now. As in my opinion, Processed by 1st Class Post is a sign of dispatch for me and as indicated in their T&C, the contract is formed.

Appears to me that they are cancelling all orders by putting it through and then cancelling it thereafter.

What did you order by the way.

Afraid that this is a sign of how they are handling it, or perhaps how their system must work in situations like this.

Process Order -> Take Money -> Change order status -> Cancel order -> Stop the package from leaving post room -> Refund money

Congrats on the 20 year anniversary by the way. Hope you have a memorable night wherever you decide to do!

I don't agree, but please do update us with how you got on.
Bear in mind that someone that took B&Q to court was ordered to pay thousands of pounds by the judge and then pursued by B&Q for more (alledgedy - source is this site).
I think a contract is formed on despatched and not an update on a computer system, but please do update us if you take it further, I'm sure many of us will be interested.
