my £134 is pending with my bank and the lady told me my order had gone through..can't track my order as i don't have a customer number..this was marshall ward...just have to wait and see not holding my breath but would like a refund
I'm sure you will be fine.
However with 35,000 orders gone through and some manual work, we may all have to wait a few days.
I know it's not satisfactory and we'd all like it done instantly but it's not going to happen.
If you really do have a very low credit limit on your card then you really need to think twice before doing these opportunistic things which to be fair, right from the start, most of us knew had little chance of working out.0 -

Many people use debit cards and object to the money being taken from accounts straightaway, but not paid back straightaway if the transaction is not going ahead. Why do they take the money anyway, other companies only take payment when they are despatching the items.0 -

But I think the money came out automatically in a computerised process.
The 35,000 refunds are probably a manual process and may require individual manual authorisation.
I think they have done themselves a great deal of damage reputation wise, but it is simply not practical for these refunds to be done instantaneously however much we would like it.
So however much I sympathis with everyone, it's just gonna take some time.
Bear in mind they have to do this ON TOP of their normal workload.
I have NO sympathy for the company but the operators who work there are not responsible for this and are just ordinary folk like you and me doing their jobs.
Sounds like a good justification for having a credit card to me.Why do they take the money anyway, other companies only take payment when they are despatching the items.
So the company taking the money is not the same as the one doing the despatching.
So what you suggest works well if it's in house, but not if they outsource the despatching to a third party.
I'm not cutting them any slack, but folks need to be realistic about what's going to happen, which does not include a magic wand.
Remeber people were actually expecting to pay for these items in the first place, so it's only those who have had to rush out today to buy an urgent replacement birthday present today/tomorrow who should actually be out of pocket. The rest of us would have been expecting to pay the bill anyway.0 -

One search is not bad, but lots can look bad and stop you getting any credit including loadns, credit cards, mobile phone, mortgage etc.
The account and £1500 credit limit will also show on your credit report.
Again this could stop you getting further credit, if lenders judge you are maxed out on credit.
That would depend on your income and how much other credit your have so it's all very contextual and difficult to say how lender would react in any specific situation.
Any account will be on your credit account for 6 years from when it's closed, SO you have definitely started a long term relationship in terms of your creditworthiness.
If you didn't sign up for it then they shouldn't have opened one so you should complain.
I say the VERY screens (before aborting) and it was very clear you were agreeing to a credit account.0 -
They may have carried out a search which will be registered on your Credit report.

So as this was done online, do I have a cooling off period even though I've agreed to a credit account without realising the implications?0 -
Yes.
The search will have already been done though and will stay on for 12 months.0
