Today was ok, teatime was a bit dodgy but then I realised I was tired and hungry and felt much better once I'd eaten.

    But the best bits:

The cr*ppy lines around my mouth are disappearing.
My eyes are not puffy when I wake up in the morning.
I'm almost sleeping all night now and when I wake up I feel good, really good.
I don't wake at 2am wheezing and needing to sit in a chair.
I'm getting my hair highlighted tomorrow for the first time in a year cos even though I'm skint, I've stashed our fag money and there is enough in the pot!

Keep on going everyone - I wouldn't swap this for an expensive £6 pound odd pack of nasty stinky cancer sticks x
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

    Hey Penelopedee

You know you're right about the 'puffy eyes'. I've only just realised when you said about it. And the wheezing, I would wake every couple of hours wheezing and/or coughing, I would even go down and light up a ciggies (after having a coughing fit and using asthma pump :o ) I'm on same days as you and just getting used to sleeping through the night, it's amazing I close my eyes and I swear 10 minutes later it's 'alarm time'
and I'm getting up for work :rotfl:
Well done on treating yourself (highlights). We deserve to treat ourselves :) and you are doing :j with your not smoking..

Thanks for your support guys, and Im sorry for the pitty arty. I have found it hard, but it has gotten easier as the day has gone on. I dont know if its the baby, or the smoking but Im so hungry all of the time!
After losing 10 stone to get pregnant, Im worried about banging the weight on, but then I think that I can lose weight again, stopping smoking and having a healthy baby is worth it more than my vanity!
Pitty party at my house today if anyone wants to join ;)
Everyone is doing so well! Im dead pleased for you all!
How do you know how much you have saved etc. Which online tool are you using for this?

WOW! Now that shows what we can do with determination and a goal!

I know it's a few weeks away, but I think once you hold your very, very precious baby in your arms at last, you will not want her to be anywhere near smoke, let alone yours! I bet you will feel you wont want to smoke at all.

Well done for not caving in today! :T

My wife and I have been chatting. We are going to give it a real go!! :j

We have 10 left and are plannng on quitting TM morning.

I will keep you posted :D

Great decision. If you look at this as a positive.........as in 'This is going to be so great, we will feel better, save money etc' rather than a negative 'Oh God, how will we cope, we'll be miserable, snappy etc' you will probably find it much easier and also might bring you closer too!

If you read the links on the whyquit.com site about stopping again you will understand what's going on with your body ie bloodsugar/cravings etc and that can be a great help.

Very proud of you (both) already!

Hi comp I suffer from depression but haven't ad a major set back for a while (I ave learnt to control it on a day to day basis through moderate excerise & diet and surrounding myself with people who make me happy and this stops me going through the major ups & downs) I would say that it has been relatively easy to stop but I have been going through a bit of a loop but again managable, I'm a bit weepy - but then I've had a few things go in this week that would have been upseting whether I was quiting or smoking. I think you can do it, if you suffer from depression ur going to have ups & downs whether you smoke or not, and I've felt so fantastic for ctually stopping.

What I'm trying to say but not very susinctly is bout 6 months ago I finally accepted (at 35 - why didn't I do this before) that my personality type means I am prone to becoming depressed, with that in mind I started to look after myself on a day to day basis to limit & control the low periods, of course I have low days (and no doubt the black dog will be back but when I've had a crap day I don't fall into the hole I go for a run, or spend time with someone who makes me happy - I still cry but its only one part of my life and I don't let it control me anymore hths x
