I believe it Az, honest I do...in fact there's just been a warning on TV that a May Pole in Essex held up by a mass of kiddies ended up bruising the poor little mites.

Thanks a lot Az, I'm getting much better thanks.

    Hi all

Just a quick check in. We've been out all day, meeting some family for lunch at a pub half way between their house and ours. No one else smokes so that was not a problem and I didn't see ONE person leave a table and go outside for a quick puff! That shows how people must be quitting.

I kept my half patch on and put the other half in my bag as a safety blanket. There was a point when we were chatting over coffee when I felt restless but I don't think it was really a 'want a cig' feeling, more that I had been sitting in one place for nearly three hours.

That made we wonder if some of our cravings during quitting are because smokers don't sit still for that long?

Well done, everyone. We all deserve a pat on the back.

Sue Glad you are feeling better. We all missed you.

Tally I'm probably too late for the drive by now but just wanted to say that I've been very flexible with my patches. I went down to a half within a day or so, take them off in the evening if we are watching TV. On New Years eve, I wore a whole one for the evening as we were with friends where the wife smokes and I knew she would 'tip me the wink' to go outside and also not be particularly sympathetic to my quit. Poor soul, I guess she is jealous.

Sally The good news from your problems today is that you have taken charge of your quit. You've not felt that you had to post or read websites or even think about it. You do it your way and you'll succeed. :T:T:T

Still cautiously confident, thanks to you all.
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

Hi Sally, not such a good day today then, but try to focus on tomorrow as the next day is so often totally different. It's lovely to see your last 5 word phrase though - stick to it Sally - you're lttle one to be will be quite chuffed one day to know you quit for him/her! One tip - as soon as the Ads come on TV, mute it so you don't hear any and look away or at something so your mind's taken from it immediately. My hubby does that all the time....and he's never taken a puff in his life! :silenced:

Thanks for your support guys, and Im sorry for the pitty arty. I have found it hard, but it has gotten easier as the day has gone on. I dont know if its the baby, or the smoking but Im so hungry all of the time! After losing 10 stone to get prregnant, Im worried about banging the weight on, but then I think that I can lose weight again, stopping smoking and having a healthy baby is worth it more than my vanity!
Pitty party at my house today if anyone wants to join ;)
Everyone is doing so well! Im dead pleased for you all!

Well done M and wife on your decision to stop. :T I wish you both happiness on your new 'life' journey. Keep coming on here for extra support, it's doing me the world of good in my 'quitting smoking'. Although I now like to say 'I'm not quitting~I have quit'. We all have faith in both of you and you can support each other. This will be one of the best decisions you both could make. Just take one day at a time, say 'OK, today we will not smoke' the next day say 'We didn't smoke yesterday, (pat on back) so we won't smoke today' (??) It really is whatever works best for you both. Me, my Inhalator helps a lot and I'm using the patches. I really do wish you both good luck.
