Oh no, I'm so sorry i didn't mean to stir anything. I didn't really know anything about the e-cigs, I thought they were nicotine free so would be a good thing to go to when I want to get off the inhalator. As they're not I will just stick with the inhalator for now. Don't worry I won't buy or try anything without speaking to the cessation nurse.
Anyway day 1 of not smoking has gone really well, only had 2 bad cravings and I used my inhalator and it got me thru them. Think the patch must be really working to have only had 2 cravings today!
Enjoy your evening all (and sorry again if I caused any upset).

Sorry to hear you are going Erme.....I love my ecig and Dr is happy with me using it too.
There are a lot of different ways of giving up smoking and one is not better than the other in my opinion. What IS important is stopping and staying stopped and that is what I intend to do.
Happy Saturday night all....0 -
Evening all,
Flis - well done on stopping! I don't think you should worry about having stirred anything - you did nothing but ask a question with the best of intentions. Not your fault! Keep up the non-smoking. I'm on the inhalator too and getting on really well with it.
Dizzy - I'm just a few hours ahead of you. My two weeks was at midnight last night and am over the moon. I remember counting two hours, and two days, and now being at two weeks is such a good feeling. Yay us!
Sleeping a little better, but my energy seems so low. Hoping that this is another thing that will settle down in time as everything adjusts to such a major change. Lots of things I should have done in the past few days but couldn't summon up the oomph. On the plus side though, my scarf is looking lovely and have nearly finished reading my book! Hmmm.........0 -
Not to worry, Flis, you concentrate on stopping smoking and please, don't worry about what to do when the inhalator is finished. Your friend may be using the e-cig, but if you're sorted with her and her advice, then quite frankly, I'd stick with that. IF you were talking about Erme's type of e-cig then you'd in fact be going backwards!! We make our decisions which NRT to go with before quitting, but you do not want to be switching after a while..or adding!
Be happy as you are now, Flis, you're doing well and it sounds as though the patches are just what you need!

I'm pretty sure our friend Erme will be back, jacci, after all, she loves us all.
You're got it, jacci45, though the only one that is best is the one.....that suits the individual. I'm pleased you're doing well and have things sorted.

Terrific news about you being TWO weeks free, jacflash!!!!! You are doing marvellously and I bet you're so very, very proud of yourself.
If you feel tired since giving up smoking, jacflash, please don't worry! Some people are affected by this whereas others feel completely the opposite and really energised. It's just another side effect of your body adjusting to the lack of nicotine. Nicotine speeds up the metabolism to an unnaturally high level, which means that without the nicotine your metabolism slows down to adjust. This causes your energy levels to drop, but it's only temporary and will soon return to normal.
For now, boost your energy levels by avoiding sugary and processed foods. I know I say it a lot - but drink plenty of water! Have snacks consisting of seeds, nuts and dried fruit, don't have too many at a time, but a few 3 or 4 times a day do help. Take a short, brisk walk when you're feeling tired and take a break from what you're doing, it honestly does help to divert the concentration to something totally different. Then relax and always make sure you eat a good healthy breakfast (maybe porridge?) which will keep you going through the morning. Try a similar healthy lunch and so forth. Your body WILL right itself jacflash, just give I chance. For now - enjoy the scarf and book - you're quite an inspiration. :A

Have a lovely, peaceful Sunday everyone and enjoy a walk to get some fresh air into those slowly cleansing lungs which are so happy with not having fumes choke them. Stay strong!

Morning All,
I found yesterday a lot easier than I expected, but I really missed my first morning cig this morning. Put my patch on and used my inhalator. I'm determined not to have it but really want it!!
That's why I thought I'd pop on here so early for some motivation. I've down loaded that quit app and it says that so far I've saved £5.34 and added 1hr 30mins to my life!!
Anyway I'm going to keep myself busy, go brush my teeth and get thru this craving.
have a fab day all,
Flis xSorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0 -
Morning Flis and welcome to another smoke-free and healthier day!
At the time you'd normally have that first one, do something different..alter things around at that time, have a glass or some sips of water, maybe a shower if you normally don't have a morning one or by cleaning your teeth straight away - anything that's ok to do with your little treasures and takes your mind from THAT one. Look at those little darlings of yours when you have a craving as there's nothing quite like looking at our offspring to help us see a clearer and easier way ahead. Also, this is Day 2 of you getting your finances into shape!
Keep looking at that app and giving yourself added incentive, this is the best journey you'll ever undertake Flis...the journey of your LIFE!
Wishing you well with every step you take,
