lol, GF.. my daughters only 5... i would die if she needed that lol.. :rotfl:
Thank you thou... Shell probably just use the one ive got as she seemed pleasantly surprised with it..
Good luck with your efforts too, we all know it makes sense.
:rotfl: Had no idea...tee hee - how ya doing? Still going strong?Hi all,
I am stopping tomorrow with an ecig....have had very scary moments with my health...have a bone tumour but after 6 weeks eventually found out its benign. Having op on Feb 1st to remove it and all will be well.
Have decided the smoking has to go and know a friend who has given up with the help of an ecig.
Good luck all...we will get there!!
If you have any questions ask your friend or pm me...May I ask what variety of e-cig you are using and refilling your cartridges (carts) or like using pre filled? If you are refilling them what strength...
I was a pretty heavy smoker so started (after a few false starts) at 36mg/ml which is near enough the max but now quite happy at 28mg and plan to cut down that further given time...
Just would say if you start at a high strength (Sue anything from 24mg/ml upwards is classified as high strength) reduce slowly and gradually and don't reduce for the first 6-8 weeks....

Hi all- hope everyone is ok
Here are my most recent stats:
Two months, two weeks, one day, 20 hours, 35 minutes and 27 seconds. 1152 cigarettes not smoked, saving £383.33. Life saved: 4 days, 0 minutes.
The bit I would like to focus on today is my 'life saved' statistic. I appreciate this is only an estimate but I find this really helps me to see the good that is coming from getting free of cigs.
I look at it two ways:
First, I have an extra 4 days in which to enjoy my time with my daughter- to play a game, have a laugh, watch tv or read a book or visit the museum or library, or go to the cinema- whatever we plan for the next 4 days we can do and enjoy together.
Second, I have benefited from having the last 4 days with her- we did go to the library yesterday- the day before we had a walk into town after school and grabbed a hot chocolate and a cake from the cafe. The day before that we had a laugh watching our favourite tv programme- we always sing the theme tune together and clap at the same part each time (I think you have to be there).
I'm thankful for the last 4 days, and for the next 4 days; and the beauty is that the time increases for each cig we forgo.
My point is that it is important to remember the little things that we do for our pleasure- the little things that, if taken away, would amount to a lot- not just for us but for those we share our lives with. Getting free from cigs is the single biggest thing you can do to extend your life so that you, and those you love, can continue to enjoy those little things in life.
It really is worth it...
Good luck everybody

Thiis has been a tremendous incentive to me in 6 months I've not smoked over 4000 fags and saved £1300.
Anyone thinking of quitting pretend you have stopped for a year, put in your habit you will be amazed.0 -
Hey all,
Just wanted to let you know I went to the stop smoking clinic today. They were really nice. We've set my quit day for Saturday (which is what I was planning on anyway). They've given me an inhalator and patches to start with. I was pleased and amazed that i didn't have to pay for them, as I get free prescriptions. I have to go back next Thursday so they can see how I'm doing. Am really gearing myself up for this now. Actually not really enjoying the cigs I am smoking at the mo, so hopefully that means my mind set is changing which will help me to quit. I'm nervous and excited now, silly isn't it!!!
Hope you're all doing well, Oh and Denis_UK - that's amazing!! Well done you. Smoking lady did point out to me today that my quitting I will save myself over £1500 a year!!! As a single Mum with 2 small children to look after that extra money will be amazing!

Hi all,
I'm now on day 11 of Champix and day 2 of not smoking. So far so good. Yesterday I was busy at work and then went to the cinema (can't smoke there!!) and today I've been at work until 7.30pm. But this evening I am home alone and missing it - makes me wish I'd gone the ecig route as I want something to do now.

FDM they are terrific stats..and as you say...that's only so far!!!Marvellous that indeed, all our loved ones gain at us no longer allowing an addiction to keep it's hold on us - an addiction we are ALL capable of beating - IF WE WISH TO!!! I'm thrilled to bits for you, FDM, your DD also.
When we weigh up life the most important thing we can give people is - our time - keep saving yours to give as it's so terribly precious!

Hi Flis, I'm so pleased you've now been to the stop smoking clinic and have your patches and inhalator ready for Saturday. Most NRT's are free now thankfully, at least people no longer really need to fork out in order to get themselves healthy. Do you have the silkquit meter to log your daily stats? It's so very helpful as well as being a great incentive. If you don't have one then download it from here You'll soon be having great stats like FDM!

Hi tintingirl, I see what you mean, at work you're busy, then the cinema you're unable to puff, but relaxing at home.......! Have you got any old hobbies or can you start a new one, something to take your mind into it and really focus on? Try your best to put you mind to something...you'll soon do so naturally anyway, so try and make it a little easier now on. How about knitting or crochet? There are threads on MSE for both!
You're doing really well though so be proud of those 2 days you've not smoked for, they're precious!

Hi there
1 day cig free is an achievement- 2 days is tremendous!! It may seem an old worn-out phrase but try to do something to take your mind off the cigs- anything really as that will take the focus away from (not)smoking and occupy your mind. It is when the cravings hit that we are most at risk and they occur less often when your mind is distracted.
You can do it!!
Good luck

I feel like I need to become part of this thread - as I won't want to let people down! Well, this week I've been routinely getting used to the smoke-free gap in the evening, and trying to push the smoke-free period in the morning, from waking up to late afternoon.
Slowly getting there and my method seems to be working for me. It's gratifying when the proof of it comes in unexpected ways - on Wednesday I stepped out to the car, opened the door and was nearly overwhelmed by the stale smoky stink that hit me - Gawds, it smelt like old men's farts. It was disgusting. My taste is definitely improving - I can actually taste some of the herbs and spices in my food without having to ladle them in.0
