Evening JD and wonderful news about you having another full week behind you! oooh I'd love to see that snow, I know they forecast it up in Scotland, but you they don't always get it right. Ah well, if we haven't got it down here yet, at least I can imagine yours! Mad I know, but...!

  • Hi everyone im on zyban week 2 now and wow i felt weird
very dizzy and sometimes had laughing fits :rotfl:
I have gone from (honest) 30 a day to 2 days barely 10.. but
my quit completly day was the 1st and i failed that then on the friday
i bought a pack as i was going out and i knew my bf would stress me out... soon to be ex :(

So since then ive had a couple here an there which is ok and today ive
had one.. normally id have had 5 by now  ive just started to use
the e cigarette as im climbing the walls thinking of them..plus my daughter is begging me to buy them which is so not helping..and she is going rd the house moaning that she wants one which is basically here verbalising what im thinking which is driving me crazy:mad:

I want to just sleep or lock myself away for couple weeks as i know i could do it then.. but i can do it..i must do it.

Im going to take my zyban on full stomac as i totally forgot that
i have menthol sweets too and im not planning on going out for 2 weeks or seeing anyone that stresses me out.
Cant understand why 8 yrs ago the zyban helped alot more.. this time im much more determined?.. sorry for rambling on
  • Hey all, just checking in :)
I'm now 18 days smokefree - long may it continue!

I don't really get any cravings now, unless I'm in a stressful situation when I would normally smoke. The habitual (after brekkie, after dinner, while drinking at home) cravings seem to have gone. I've still not tried a night out with my friends yet, I suppose time will tell!

One weird side-effect from quitting that I've noticed... I wake up in the night to go for a wee! I've never done that before! However, the last two weeks or so I have woken at 5/6am every morning without fail to use the loo!

I'm thinking maybe it's because I am drinking a lot of green and rooibos tea?:o

Keep up all the good work clan, I can't wait to mark off the "one month clean" day off my calendar! :D

    Thanks Sue

I've just done my add-up and my camera and computer have now been paid for out of my ciggie-savings :j, so now I'm looking for something new to buy...TV? iPod? I'm not sure what, but what I do know is that it has to be the best quality possible.

I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before, but this is the first time in my life that I've actually been in a position to buy things without getting credit, or getting the cheaper/2nd best/2nd hand model, and the feeling is very liberating, and more so because all this stuff is being bought with money that I would otherwise have set fire to!!!

Oh I'd also like to go on holiday. I have the most amazing GF ever, she's been my biggest motivating influence (although she probably doesn't know it), and we've been talking about flying out to the sun in early spring...

    ...Decisions decisions :)

Anyway my main reason for posting today is to say that I'm going to get my head down and continue with the quit. I don't want to think about it any more than I have to until at least the end of January, and possibly most of February.

We (my GF and I) plan to hide ourselves away for a couple of months (the coldest months). Recover from the Xmas excesses, and save a bit of money. A bit of a hibernation if you like :p. Once Spring is on it's way we hopefully will be rested and ready to take on the World.

Of course I'll continue to read and keep up to date on this thread, but unless there is anything that I feel the need to respond to, I doubt I'll be contributing that much.

I hope that everyone has a great Xmas, and gets all that they desire. However I know that Xmas brings about a whole load of stresses and strains for everyone...I've thought about this already and have thought about how I'm, going to deal with them. I hope that everyone else is able to deal with them as well.

Without being negative if anyone does slip, it need not be a big deal, just an opportunity to quit in the New Year!!!

If I don't get the opportunity to post beforehand, I hope that everyone on the thread has a great Xmas and a wonderful New Year.

a few folk have had the same thing i guess its that you have increased your fluid intake which can only be a good thing both short term riddng your body of all those nasty chemicals and toxins and long term , rehydrating you and keeping you in good health .., its gotta come out somewhere and sometime , shame yours is in the wee small hours ;)

bargan bunny try NOT to buy anymore smokes , tell yourself you may buy them tomorrow if you choose , have a goal and list of the reasons why you want to quit and focus on these suck the menthol sweeeties and drink / sip plenty of water colder the better

feel free to rant here we all know how hard it is but it is doable

good luck wether its health / financial reasons you can and will do it

boy am i glad that i now have my new computer virus protection have not been able to use computer for a few days....any way just thought i'd say that came close the last few days to buying a packet but the only thing that stopped me was the thought of having to fess up (as the kids say) to sue -uu and how hard it was to get this far.

have wanted one so badly especially as have been getting the bus to/from work due to the fact that i had a bit of accident was cleaning windows stepped down fast straight on to an up turned plug. looked like any house hold appliance could be plugged into my foot thats all the details you need for the squemish. its only now that i can walk properly that was two weeks ago

i was so proud that didnt swear.
    Thanks to all :A

Oucchh! I would def have swore. I stood on a strange spiked decorating thing at the weekend after clearing out a cupboard. swear did indeed and invented a few new words . didnt do much damage as i shot into the air with a yelp!

But didnt smoke tho hurrah! Its been snowing here today and I have been grateful not having to go outside for a ciggie risking going on my a** and facing the loss of my eyebrows .

Also noticed how much nicer my flat smells .

    Wishing you all well x:T
