Hello again DD and Tricia and thank you both very much indeed for your lovely welcome! Like you, I hope very much indeed that things will turn out okay after all the physio is through, but for now I'm plodding on.

Many congratulations to you on having got to 9 months DD :T:T and you on for months and two weeks Tricia!!! :T:T I hope you're having a lovely holiday Tricia and that the problem the other day will have addressed itself by now. I always speak about stopping smoking being a "journey" and find that for you to know it's more or less successful you need to go throughout a full year of all the natural events, some which are good and some not so, but many of them likely to be things that might throw you where smoking was concerned in the past. For me, very often it was excitement that would trigger an "ooh, I need a fag!" moment, then the knowledge that I most certainly did not but for a fleeting moment it was just one of the things I'd become used to in my former smoking life. You're well on your way though Tricia so have a brilliant journey and a great holiday! :D

Hello Spike and a very warm welcome back! Don't worry though as you didn't so much fail miserably as you just weren't ready then, but now is a different time and all the very best with Champix! BTW, always take champix after eating food or with eating food, either way when you've got food in your stomach as you won't find it so nauseating. No worries about the 13th being an omen, apart from the omen being a good one :j ;)

Hi Lippycow and wonderful news of you starting week nine as an ex smoker! Isn't that just the most wonderful feeling and you're doing it all by yourself! :j Keep it up and stay strong!

Hello and welcome back again ixia! It's lovely to see you back and having another shot at it, all the very best at this time being the time! Marvellous news at you having gone out last night and stayed true to yourself while your friends went outside and had their ciggies! Maybe you will become a good example to them in time.

Very well done on the 52 Janet! :T You've already come quite a long way so be very very proud of your achievements so far. So sorry to hear about you with your cold, though it may just help your little, but I hope you're soon feeling a lot better.

Congratulations everyone on how far you've come along your journeys and for those of you who haven't started yet please come and join us, you will be so glad you did when it's your turn to be so very proud of yourselves at having said goodbye to the Demon tobacco for good!

    Have a great week everyone.

Great to see you back Sue!! :T

I'm still plodding along and I agree with you about those joyful or celebratory smokes, the thoughts about smoking at these times come to us just as randomly and hits us just as hard as when we're stressed, angry or otherwise emotionally wired. Surprised myself a few times, even recently, at how those thoughts can manifest.

Hi Kiwisaver and thank you very much indeed, though in all honesty it's very good to be back. It's good to hear somebody else that finds the happy or exciting times triggers I'd hate to think I wasn't normal!! ;) Congratulations on being smoke-free for well over three months, you've done brilliantly as it certainly hasn't been plain sailing for you by any means. Keep at it kiwi, you're doing so very well!!! :T:T

Hi again ixia, another day ahead and well done! :) With regards to the broken night's sleep, Have you tried having warm (not hot) bath's/showers? If not give them a try along with a hot milky drink and settle down with a light reading book (nothing scary:eek:) until you feel nicely tired, all those things do help you in having an unbroken nights sleep and not just in getting you off to sleep n the first place. Give them a try and see if they work for you. Whenever your mind wanders onto thinking about ciggies have some beautiful thoughts ready to snatch at; memories of a lovely holiday, a lovely weekend, or a walk you had earlier. Anything that you can bring to mind to push out ciggies. also concentrate on your breathing, not deep breathing but just concentrating on your breath going out and taking all stress away with it, then concentrate on your breath coming in and bringing you renewed relaxation. Give it all a try ixia and keep chatting to us and telling us exactly how you feel and now all best wishes for a good nights sleep. :)

Excellent news hoogervaaner, you're doing really well and if tutting helps you then keep it up - so long as you don't have too big an audience! ;)

Have a good relaxing night everyone and a great smoke-free day tomorrow and look forward to putting more steps on your journey to a far better and healthier life. Please do come and join us or you lurkers, it really would be great to get more of you to kick the habit.
