Still no cigs for me :j Although I have been having a large glass of wine in the evening to aid sleeping which probably less than ideal.

Now this may be tmi but did anyone notice an increase of sweating when they stopped? :o Very strange, I know it's been warm but this has only happened since I quit.

I have gained a couple of pounds but as I would live on tea and cigs during the day and only eat a meal in the evening it's not a massive suprise and to be honest I look better for it :)

I've just read this back and it would seem that within a week of quitting I have turned into a fat, sweaty boozer :rotfl:

Edited to say: discovered a new way to aid willpower......... go to a mirror, make kissy face, remind self I don't want to end up with a mouth like a cat's bum.

Hello again EVERYONE!! I'm back with you again after my very nasty fall that I believe sparky told you about. I've missed you all so very much, but thank you ALL for the wonderful PMs and many beautiful wishes from you that have really touched my heart in a marvellous way - thank you ALL sincerely from the bottom of my heart. I'm still having great problems with my hand/arm and have seen my Dr again and now having emergency therapy. At present I'm using a "speech to text" device, bought for me by my belved hubby, bless him :kisses3:, to make proper contact with you, my very dear friends

I haven't had time to read through the pages since March 9th, but I'm quite sure that those who were with us then have stayed true and carried on with successfully quitting...feeling extremely delighted with yourselves too, and so you should!!

I'll be with you again shortly, but for now...ALL old friends and new, whether you've been stopped for weeks or months - or have only just stopped smoking - many congratulations!!! It's the finest thing you can do for yourself and the greatest gift you'll give yourself!! Stay strong and so very proud and be aware that we know only too well what it's like - but - also know that it CAN be done!

    Your friend, Sue xxxx :)

DD posted 'Smoking cessation is a process, not an event.' and it really struck home this week. We are away in our caravan for the first time this year and the first time since I stopped smoking and also the first time since our dog died (:().

I thought I was over both things but it has been really weird for a couple of days but getting better now. It really brings home to me how psychologically dependent I was on smoking.

Welcome back Sue. It sounds like you really knocked yourself about. Don't overdo it. The text to speech programmes are a really good idea.

All you lovely people who are just starting on this journey, hang on and it gets easier very quickly - honest. This week has not been a problem, more a feeling that something is missing - which thank goodness it is. :T:T
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

    hi

I've been on before I think probably about this time last year and had great support and advice pm'd to me from Sue and encouragement from others. I ended up smoking again

However, I am back and determined this time had a few weeks off it here and there in between times but went to docs and got Champix si I'll give them a try.

I stopped smoking on day 8 so into 4th day without a cig :j I am alright although last night I kept thinking about smoking bit I resisted. Forgot to take my tablet last night though but have took one this morning.

Today I am going out with friends for a meal and a few drinks so I will need to stay strong and see it as a challenge instead of me missing out on something.

Spike- I felt really sick when I first started taking them I think it was worse though every time I had a cig, still get the odd wave now I've stopped but not nearly as bad. Good Luck

Thanks everyone and have a good smoke-free day ;)

I usually spend about £30 a week on cigs so my friend in work took £30 off me yesterday and said she'd keep it for me as I would have bought cigs anyway and that I should save it and buy myself something nice.
