  • I am trying to encourage Benjamin to do certain things with only daddy (ie play with his train and blocks which I am not a fan of anyway ;)) so perhaps having a toy which only David and DH play with might be an option? Either something loud and noisy (if your hubby is the energetic type) or some jigsaws or something (if he wants to sit and bond). If you don't do whatever with him and say 'daddy will play that with you' then it might encourage them a little?

Great ideas MFD. :j Please can you change my name ;)
DH is very much a hands-on roughty toughty type of Dadda so no problem thinking of Dadda only play.

Wow, D has lots of words. I bet he is so cute saying them all. We have a lot of understanding but only a few clear words.

He doesn't say biscuit clearly - just skit - but he does say everything else clearly. He has come on leaps and bounds this last month :j

Oh Skintchick-I hope that my reply didn't sound sarcastic re: breastfeeding, it wasn't, I think it's great. So many reach a certain milestone, 6 months, 1 year etc, then stop, I can remember my MIL telling me it had gone on far too long at about 8 months! I think it's because she's a very independant child. She's never had problems sleeping in her own room, despite co-sleeping for the first year, never had a dummy, favourite teddy/comforter etc, though I bought her loads of the taggies, raggies etc when she was little, thinking she would (on the plus side, unlike my friend, I've never had a sleepless night as the afore mentioned comforter has been misplaced!) I'm incredibly proud of our 14 months and was devestated when she self-weaned, much preferring a doidie cup, it was probably one of the hardest things I've ever done in the beginning but definitely one of the most rewarding.

Oh no! It was just I re-read what I put and thought 'oh my goodness that sounds incredibly smug' and knowing that lots of posters on here are sensitive about BFing discussions I thought I'd best explain myself!

We also coslept for a year and she still comes into bed with us from about 4am now.

I have to say, I can;t see that she will ever wean! I think I will end up like my friend whose son breastfed till he was 5

    *hugs* all round.

Been a busy day. Worked this morning and got home early afternoon. Took the dogs for a walk with Charlotte. Played biscuits with play-doh and had to pretend to eat them all. Ditto play-doh sausages. Did some typing. Popped out and did an audit for work and got some groceries. Came home and sorted out stuff for tomorrows work. Been to boot camp. Been typing up stuff for work this evening and still got one report to do, but I'm shattered :o

Boot camp was really tough after the break. My legs got the shakes at one point :o
Here I go again on my own....
