  • Happy new year to you all! I feel like I have been away for ages, but I have been keeping up on FB.

Lovely relaxing christmas break here, spending lots of time with Liam & OH. Managed some sales shopping but very disappointing and hardly bought anything. Although a new iphone has been ordered for OH so I am in his good books.

Back in work today, it was so hard leaving the house with OH & Liam still in bed and snow outside :( I hope it hasn't been too distressing for all the Mummies returning from Mat leave. - I'm not very good being at home for long periods, the result usually involved spending money. After the 1st few weeks I did feel like I spent my ML waiting for something and resenting OH for being able to escape the house and have adult interaction. I think we have a good balance atm - 3 days in work, 4 days at home - 2 without OH ;)

Kitkat - Sorry your having a rough time (Oh, and congratulations too!) Liam was one for thrashing is arms about and also trying (and sometimes being successful) to scratch his face and waking himself up. We used one of these - I think it was about £6 from TKMaxx.

Thanks New, that swaddlepod thing looks good, how long wud it last for? I've been looking for something like that but finding one for 4 month old + is quite hard! He is a danger to himself tho, and the other night he had the sheet we swaddled him in over his head!

I'm sure ur OH will love his iPhone, mine loves his and is constantly on it! I've got an iPod and I couldn't live without that (using it now!) some of the apps are so useful :)
  • I think they say 6months, but I supposed it would depends on the size of the baby and if they could roll over.

OH has been hankering after one for ages. We both have ipod but again, like the lappy, Liam likes to take over. He loves watching countdown on it...

    Ooh new thread!

Hello all, thanks all for congrats msgs for my Xmas engagement although with OH's recent behaviour I can't see a wedding happening, and the fact following this weekend I hate his mother even more :( sorry I'm so miserable today!

T is having terrible nights, feels like the last growth spurt hasn't long finished and now another. He is so awake and playful in the night. He has got terrible eczema atm which is infected on his face :( he keeps flailing his arms and rubbing his face so much he's making it worse, I've been swaddling him which works initially but when he wakes he gets upset he can't move and soon kicks it off.

    Hope everyones ok!

I'm sorry you have MIL issues, I hate my ex-mil, she interfered so much when my older ones were babies it's unbelievable, Just tell her to do a running jump. I always used to once I realised there was really nothing she could do about it lol

We've had Squeak awake a few nights recently, she needs her late bottle again now, she was going 8.30 ish till 7. Woke her up at midnight last night to feed her and she was laying in her cot after her bottle making hapy little noises then I hear this really wet noise and my worst fears are confirmed by the nasty wafting smell...

I hope midnight poos are not going to become a habit.

kitkaT - just depends on the baby, really. We swaddled until Finn was around 7 months, but I know some people who have done it even longer!

No time to catch up further, must dash back to work, eek!

Hello new thread :) Haven't been posting much or keeping up on facebook much either but happily getting on with things. Every time I try to read a long post on facebook it crashes my browser with a script error, anyone know how I can fix that?

Back to work tomorrow for me after a week and a half off, really going to miss Erin, we went home (Cumbria) for the break and left Daddy in London so I've gotten used to having her around all the time but it was really good seeing how much she missed Daddy, she even managed to sign 'where's daddy' a few times. Oh got to go, monster awake and we need to go shopping for a replacement bib to the one we left up north.

Jenny - possibly not much help but it does that to me whenever I have other things going on, ie videos playing.

I can sympathise with those of you with clingy babies, had a a few episodes later where he'll be fine then cry and whinge and fight to get to me as soon as I appear. I felt awful for my sister coz she had been so looking forward to seeing him and then he just wanted me all day. He was fine if she took him out the room tho lol...I should have taken the opportunity to go out really
I am having the exact same problem with T at the moment....MIL came on xmas day and was so looking forward to cuddles, but everytimw I handed her over T would screech the house down until back in my arms.

OMG - I am so glad you said that. Benjamin will only eat toast/bread at the moment (although he is fine with cereal for some bizarre reason) I thought he was just being a fussy-a55 but maybe it could be his teeth? The other day he ate 5 slices of toast because he wouldn't touch anything else!

How very cute and clever of K!!! And how well you must have taught him to sit down to eat!! Can he come and teach my roving monkey some manners!!

I had to wake poor Benjamin up this morning and he climbed into bed next to daddy and refused to get out after he had got dressed (which is good for daddy's ego!) but he went to the CM fine and stood at the door shouting 'bye mum' when I left which is good!

YES! K will also eat his cereal. I am tending to just dish out dinner as normal but give him toast and butties alongside it...I'm sure one day he will just gobble up his dinner as normal:cool:

Glad it was fine at the CM's

    xx

    Clever Squeak!

I was about to catch up but can hear Husband telling Miss M how annoyed I'm going to be when I find out that she's emptied my sock drawer and cosmetics etc shelf again
