Ironing all finished
:):):):)
OH done the dishes, and I have sorted through DD's t-shirt drawer and chucked a load of her tops....she was also told off for them all being shoved in even though after I ironed them, I had put them all in tidy!!
Need to list some stuff on netmums as I don't know when I will get to the charity shop.
Last bit of washing now in the TD and there is not enough left in the basket for a fyl wash.....things are getting there slowly, just hope I can keep up with it:)0 -

Evening all
ANOTHER quiet day at work - but I did get a lot of writing done :cool:Ladies, can I ask you a question, which I suppose is kinda flying-related as its about getting organised.
Is it worth buying a Breadmaker - or is it a novelty I will never use??
xxx
Jo - I got my breadmaker oh, 2 or 3 years ago, can't remember exactly when and I love it and have used it constantly since. The bread is delicious.
I worked out it saved me money after about 6 months use. I bake a large white loaf every other day - that does me for sandwiches (DD buys her own plastic bread) for two days and the odd bit of toast in between. The nub end I whizz up into breadcrumbs and freeze to make stuffing etc.
My advice is to buy as top of the range as you can. I have one of the Panasonic top range things and its versatility is phenomenal. I tend, for bread, just to use the quick bake white setting (1 hour 55 minutes) because that fits in with my lifestyle. I can pop a loaf on in an evening and it's ready to come out to cool when I go to bed so it's fine for work sandwiches in the morning.
Bread flour - you need to shop around to see what best suits your m machine. I have found, surprisingly, the Asda bread flour at 50p-60p a large pack produces a much better loaf than your doubly-priced Allinsons/Hovis etc.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Thats quite a good idea Pigpen - I hadnt thought about doing it at the weekend and freezing them for the week! That would probably be more practical for me.
Ive seen one in Argos which is reduced to £40, so I would need to make 45 loaves of bread to break even...
ETA: Soappie - hmmmm, now I am wondering whether I am looking at the right breadmaker as your not the first person to say that (about the type of machine you should buy) - thanksMissus_Aka wrote: »Just posted & read my list its long so am gonna relax for 8 mins & eat an apple & drink some water to keep me going, will put law and order on tv so i have something to listen to while i finish cleaning
Dont let your list put you off - concentrate on what you have already achieved so far!!! Grab a timer and just to another 10 mins... you often find at the end of the ten minutes, you are halfway through something and happy to carry on! If not, at least you did another 10 minutes and can cross something else off.
Go on - I'll do 10 minutes with you....Sometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

Possiby a mad question..
Freja's godparents.. we are having 1 by proxy (he is in Oz travelling until June) OH's sister.. would it be highly inappropriate to have DD1 (she is 16) and maybe DS1 (19) as well??
I think that's a lovely idea, but then, my DS1 "gave me away" when DH and I married. (he was 15 and totally thrilled to be asked to do it) I think it shows closeness. Have you spoken to your DD1 and DS1?
ETA If my DH and I had a child with each other (which, unfortunately, isn't going to happen.... he's had the op) I would ask all four of our children to be god parents.Saving up £25000/£3500 by Jan 1st 2012 by selling my clutter. Remember I'm doing it for Dad.
Textiles, languages, travel and a lovely home are not stupid things to want. You have immediate family's support.Appreciate what I've achieved so far. Other people's opinion of me is none of my business.0 -
Hello, I have struggled with a chest infection until today when I took some time owing from work , so from 1pm had time on my own.
I have cleaned bathroom today from behind the sink to taking the light fitting down and cleaning it !! sorted out all the empty /messy pile of toiletries.I cant believe that it has taken me until now to do basic things.I havent slept very well, due to my cough , been doing a bit of thinking and decision making.
I have contacted my DMP people asking for an up to date list , with the thought of going it alone. I have also taken the rein from my mum as has for too long put guilt on me and my siblings to spend all our free time with her, despite us having families/friends of our own etc.I really feel comfortable in my esteem if you know what I mean.
scrapped a bit more paint off the bedroom doors and promptly hoovered up after ward. Cleared work top in kitchen .Had a mass tidy in my bedroom yesterday and it was really quiet calm when i went to bed last night.Hope everyone is okay xmum "e" to the most perfect girl :Awho stood by me through it all nana to my beautiful grandson WLM 27.09.13:j

I'm on my second (a Panasonic) and if it died, I'd replace it like a shotI bake in it all week, then bake artisnal bread by hand at the weekend. Which reminds me - I'm starting my sourdough tomorrow - so excited :j :T
Evening - is it not the weekend yet?!
my working week is done, so today is indeed Friday :rotfl:
Been bimbling and dot-to-dotting. Need to crack on tomorrow, and have a good going over the house, before it descends :rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Argh! I don't even know where to start at the moment!!!! I have a poorly boy so not been able to do anything during the day except wash sicky clothes and sheets! I have mounds of washing - some dirty some just needs to dry and the rest just needs ironing and putting away. I can never seem to keep on top the washing - Pigpen how do you manage with your brood? I only have three and can't cope with the washing!Make £5 a day challenge - April

Oh I LOVE the weekend for 'tis here (:p except for my fly-friend for whom 'tis Monday)
Nipped to Morrisons for 'bits' (milk) and got some 09p reductions:D
posh blue cheese - how is THAT OOD? and sausages which have gone in the freezer
With DDs help the decs are back in the loft (DS reserved his right NOT to help because HE never WANTED the tree up...though he did some hauling upstairs)
so what I need to do NOW is scoot around and empty the bins (not least cos my wheelie bin's been wheelie underused this week and there wheelie isn't much in there - about a quarter full atm, honest) and empty the cat litter trays...
Arwenelf
level 1 s then - and dailies
Pigpen copes with the washing because she is a skilled TD user - she washes, TDs then folds and misses out the BEST BIT - and she has 2 washers (most of the time)
Then I shall have a rest!
Newbies - please be aware that some of us have been here a long time so we are quick, do the lists weekly and our houses rarely descend into the chaos they were once in and which brought us here. Many of us have also decluttered which helps - I am in awe, personally, of the stuff Sockdrawer has decluttered.
