Really Weird Car Remote Problem - Any Ideas Please?
This is a really weird problem so I don't know if anyone can help but here goes :
I have a house with electric gates leading to a rear parking area and then a garage with an electric door - these both work off the same remote 2 diff buttons.
My car and my OH's van is parked around the back in between the electric gates and electric garage door.
We last used the car last night & it was fine. Just attempted to go out and when pressing the button for the car to unlock & deactivate the immobiliser the car does nothing and the garage door opens. Luckily we left the car unlocked last night so we can get into it but we can't start it as the button fob now seems to operate our garage. So we tried the van key fob and the same thing happens you press the button and the garage door opens???
This is sooo weird and we don't know what to do. We can't move the Civic because of the immobiliser. The Van we can start up because it doesn't have an immobiliser but both fobs seemed to have reprogrammed themselves to the garage door.
The garage door fob still operates the garage.
We have tried turning off all power to the garage and the key fobs still don't work.
Help I have no idea what to do??
How am I going to get to work on Tuesday?

Hold on...
Are you saying the car key fob is now operating the garage/gates instead of the car??
LOL !!!If Adam and Eve were created first
.Does that mean we are all inbred0 -
Yes the key fob for the van and car are no longer operating the cars and are now operating the garage door!!!!!!
Freaky0 -
Have you tried putting new batteries in? Long shot, but some things do behave oddly when the batteries are low, or cold.... so, if you don't have a new battery to try, then take out the one you've got and warm it up in your hands for 10 minutes.0

Well....., the riff raff in this life (those with no electric gates/garage doors) sometimes get to work on the bus or walk there!
Maybe you will have to pay a man to take you (eg a taxi driver)
Thats really helpful thanks a lot - I live in my grandads bungalow which I could never afford to buy myself as he has only one leg and has had to go into a care home and I rent his place to help fund his care home fees.
You shouldn't make assumptions!!!!!!0 -
I tried the garage fob - it still opens the garage.
