What kind of a car do you have? How on earth can a child running into it cause £1800 of damage? Is this the garage taking the pee? Seriously- what is the garage claiming the damage is?
We have had almost exactly the same thing happen to us but with no damage at all. The girl was 14 and actually ran off when we got out. We were obviously concerned and would have taken her to hospital for a check up. We reported it to the police and found out that the "child" had been drinking. I think she learned something that day. And so did we- I was forever telling OH to watch his speed and this day thankfully, we were going way below the speed limit. Pointed out to OH just how bad it could have been. So we learned from that day as wellweight loss target 23lbs/49lb0 -

What a bunch of knobs some of you are. Of course OP can sue the child for damages, then it would be their legal guardian who have to pay for this.0
