Hello everybody  Well bit of a top up shop done today for the freezer but it does mean that we are now "good to go" for the rest of January....really want to prune that food spending and with what we've got left over we should only need veg, bread and milk from the local shops.....Also planned a baking day tomorrow for treats and the "pudding" for OH's work sandwiches. THe 2nd lampshade for the hall which we had to take back to B&Q (glass was all cracked when we opened it) has still not had another delivery. Good job they refunded the initial money. We nipped into the local BHS and strewth there is the lampshade. Not in stock and £5 dearer...so we're going to try another couple of B&Qs before we either get it from there or I'll get it on line and look for some codes..... OH had gone to the local pub to watch his footie match on their Sky but at half time they switched over to another game so he's come home and is having to listen on the radio.....Apart from that not a great deal being done here today.....I'm going to see how long I can go without spending anything - house renovation stuff exempt of course....I'll try and pop back later and I hope everyone has a good day and those who are still feeling icky feel better (I'm not quite as nauseous but am still getting waves of it, wierd....)
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green

My nephew was taken to the game by his godfather as a birthday treat, it was his first Old Firm game, he brought us luck

kitchen has been completely declutter, cleaned and put back together again. alan did the same with our bedroom. i now have a huuugggeeee pile of washing which has appeared from nowhere and is nearly all alans. actually apart from a few socks of mine that i've kicked off during the night and found their way under the bed, its all alans! i'm sure he's been hiding it :rotfl:
tomorrow its ds' room, the airing cupboard, the bathroom and the stairs being tackled. sounds more than it is really. then the house is how i want it and i will lurk over at the flylady thread to keep on top of it.
plus meals this week are sorted. we've budgeted £50 a week on food. started last week and only spent £6
have sort of stolen the money box ideas from here. all the change goes into a pot and at the end of the week it goes into a moneybox. we got brought it for christmas. it looks like a tin but is actually a moneybox. the only way of getting in to it is by using a tin opener
thats going to go towards a holiday this year. we havent been for a year or two.

Afternoon all
Just come back from parents. Annoyingly they have closed the road by me again (but no police here today), so I had to take a detour of 10min through the town centre both ways. No reason that I can see why the road is shut, people are walking along the coast path next to it.
Despite me not wanting to go to supermarket my mum had asked me to get her some cough medicinen so I stopped at Tesco. I was lucky and got some great YS bargains - leeks/blueberries/pears/peppers all at 29p each!
. Their free range eggs were so expensive though, £1.70 for 6!! So stopped at Lidl on way home but they had none left
. I'll get some in the market on Tues in my lunch. I also got some onions for 39p in Lidl, and carrots for 25p!
I'm making leek&potato soup now, it'll be a very late lunch! and lunches for week.
WM went on with towels whilst I was out, and I need to put BM on later.
Have a good evening all

All the ironing and sewing done and dusted ,washing had a bit of a blow but is now on the airer in the kitchen to dry off. Just about to take the gammon out of the SC. Its cooked through beautifully so it can cool down whilst I'm at DDs for dinner tonight.I seem to have caught up with myself at last.
Just had a bit of a sad phone call from eldest DD her work colleague's 18year old finally passed away last night poor soul. She was diagnosed with spinal cancer in May and was told before Christmas that she hadn't got long. She leaves a two year old son with her Mum as her son's Dad left her 7 weeks ago saying he couldn't cope with all the problems (selfish bas**rd). My DD is very upset as she has a DD almost the same age and can sympathise with her friends loss.
I know she isn't in pain anymore but for a young lass to lose her life with everything in front of her seems so sad.
I shall say one for her tonight God rest her.
Sorry to be a bit down but I think that there are times that life is such a mess for some folks

Oh Jackie that's terrribly sad, her poor mother. I hope her whole family finds the strength to get through it, and her child grows up to know how much her mother loved her and was loved.xIt's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window
